I feel like I listened to her without even realizing in our kitchen!
- light permitter cabinets with dark island - statement pendants - honed counters (we did marble though) - hide the microwave - add a bar fridge and sink - add in glass cabinets
I still need to find new faucets. The one I want is $1600 and I'm having a hard time biting the bullet!
Our living room is really similar to hers, too. We customized the mantle and are doing just tons of seating, no TV (we also have a smaller room off the kitchen to be the family room). We are doing neutrals with a touch of pink instead of purple. I love the idea of getting a rug cut to size.
I like the Mudroom a lot. Love the hallway -- we did a similar staircase after asking you ladies what would look best! The powder room is a little busy for me but I think it works.

Sigh...
I just watched it Tivo'ed and it was wonderful! That kitchen was amazing!
Why oh why can't HGTV air these episodes over and over again instead of the other crap they show? Sarah Richardson is by far my favorite designer and much better than the others on that network. They need more Sarah Richardson!

So I just watched the mudroom one. I have never watched her shows before so I don't have any background knowledge of what she is all about.
That said, I loved the colors she used (including the bird wallpaper) and the painted doors, and paneling. I did not love how she stuck the powder room rocking out in the middle of the room. It was just weird to me.
I also was irritate tht she kept saying over and over that you get so much house for your money in the country. Gee, really? By you are a two hour drive from whatever city she lives in, so it's not like that is a practical solution for someone who has, like, a job.
Complaint # 3 is the giant addition. She boug a cute (small) farmhouse, and put an addition on that is bigger than the original house. It is not really a farmhouse at this point, and the layout of the house is so sprawly and long. Not a fan of that. I haven't seen the finished product so maybe I will change my mind, but it seems like it will be a huge hike from one end of the house to the ther, the heating bill must be awful in the winter, and I wonder what it will look like form the outside.
You are watching a different series than the pps are discussing. The farmhouse was several seasons back.
The farmhouse powder room seemed like it was in kind of a weird location to me too, but I kind of understood why she did that.
Argh. Off to try again.
Is there anywhere I can watch online? I am not finding it.
actually, if the "mudroom one" you were watching had an entry in neutrals, mudroom w/orange walls and a powder room with bird wallpaper, then you are watching the same set of shows as the rest of us.
in her current series ($100k upgrade budget for a builder grade home), i kept trying to see if the mudroom had another door to the garage, to make it make more sense to me, but i don't think we really saw that. i will look more closely on my rewatch of it (i recorded it, too).
love her style (wouldn't ever have a lavender living room, but love her techniques and ideas being explained, so i can execute it (at least somewhat), but in a different color family.
love the kitchen, love the entry and haven't quite finished watching the family room one, yet.
