((mpc)), I'm so sorry you and your H are going through this. Great news vanillahip!
Guys. Our donor is starting stims tonight (I was a little nervous something would go wrong with her blood work or she'd have a cyst and we'd be delayed), AND, sqeeeeee, she has 30 baby follicles!!! Next update is Thursday.
Oh! I didn't see the rest of your question, Mushe. Napa was fun! It rained the entire time we were there, but it was so pretty. I want to go back sometime when I can actually drink.
I'm glad it was fun! This weekend was much rainier than expected.
I was just telling H that I want to plan a wine weekend.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
GL Wednesday starryfish ! mpc , I would be tempted to do the surgery given how high your beta still is. It isn't pleasant, but it is fast. And you start feeling better very quickly. YAY vanillahip ! pixy0stix , that is SO frustrating (the kids and the spilling).
I am waiting for my RE to call in a prescription for endometrin. I emailed on Friday, but haven't heard anything. I need it for tonight.
I called my mom after work to tell her about something and brought up my cousin finding out the gender. I think she's aware of how hard this is for me. She told me she's happy for my cousin but would be happier if it was me and said she knows this must be hard. She also said that if we need money for adoption, surrogacy, or anything else they want to pay. Then she left it alone. So while I thought she was being insensitive not to tell me my cousin was pregnant, maybe she just doesn't know how to talk to me about it. She knows we have trouble but knows no specifics because I just can't. It's good to know she's on my side though.
knx9211, I hope it shows soon so you can do IVF in May vanillahip, That's awesome all 4 fertilized! thoseareradishes EEEK! That's so exciting and 30?? WOW!
::face palm:: The forecast is still way out, but there could be a *major* snow event this weekend. If so, I'm going to have to drive down early and get a hotel room close to the doctor's office. (Forecast is either 5" of rain [which I hope it is] or 40" of snow.)
Second, they just doubled my menopur dose. ugh. I hate that one the most.

Yuck on both the storm and menopur. I had to do an extra day of menopur today in a parking garage lol.
thoseareradishes , so exciting!!!! How does it work with your donor? Do you get all the embryos that result from the cycle?
Yes, we get all the eggs. My clinic doesn't do sharing cycles. It's a big reason we went with a fresh cycle - hopefully we will have plenty of embryos to work with. We're doing CCS testing and hope to get at least 2 or 3 normal embryos, in case the first FET doesn't work.
I have a dumb ivf question....can you do a ivf cycle with a 5 day fresh transfer and then test the remaining embryos?
Yes, I think that would be possible. The remaining embryos would be biopsied then frozen.
Thanks, I think this is our plan for ivf if this IUI doesn't work. We can only afford one cycle, so I would rather do as much as I can to make it more successful.

I would probably just test them all and do a FET - then you know you are transferring an embryo with the right number of chromosomes.

I'm just popping in to say you may want to talk to your RE about this - there is some research out there now that suggests FETs generally have better success rates than fresh transfers, probably due to less amounts of hormones, etc. in your body at the time. Hopefully your IUI works out and you don't have to worry about it!
The stupid RE office never got back to me! Ugh, they are the worst with communication. I left a message at noon, never heard anything. They often don't call me until after 5, but only check the voicemail until 4. So I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and not be the crazy person leaving multiple messages, but by the time I realized they're definitely not calling, it was too late to leave another message. I am definitely calling first thing tomorrow.
starryfish, I agree with testing all and doing an FET. I really wish we had done this, even though it would have been a lot of extra money. We didn't test since there was indication for it, but we've already transferred two with nothing to show for it (first never implanted, second was trisomy 7). Unless you have lining issues, I would skip the fresh transfer.

I def will but my clinic has about 59% success rate for fresh and 49% frozen. I really don't mind doing one fresh, but if it doesn't work out I want the frozen ones tested. Def things to think about! (Those are for my age group <35)

Great news vanillahip! Congrats! GL starryfish, one more day to cook is a good thing. FX that things get moving knx9211! THAT IS SO EXCITING thoseareradishes. Yes, I am yelling. That's how excited I am...30 follicles?!?! (((mpc))) Hugs, King26. It is so hard. pixy0stix Tell me 40" of snow is a typo. Please. I can't look at the weather report, I'll cry.
Nothing much new here. I have my next lining check on Friday and then the final prep begins: PIO, endometrin, Medrol, and a few others I can't remember right now! I've never done PIO before and am a bit nervous...mostly that H will have to get up early to give it to me and waking his ass up is no small feat, hahaha.
