Oh, Chrysanthemum, re: your post last night - I am so nervous about PIO. Like irrationally scared. I've had a lap, hysteroscopy, and 3 retrievals with just normal amounts of nervousness, but PIO has me all worked up.
Chrysanthemum and thoseareradishes, ask about progesterone in ethyl oleate! That's what I used, and with a smaller needle than usual, and it was NBD. I did have some lingering soreness after I stopped, when I was running, but I'm sure that's normal for injections in the muscle.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

thoseareradishes the PIO shots really aren't that bad. I was really nervous, too. I've figured out a way to not make them hurt AT ALL... I ice my hip for 10 minutes or until it's numb, I warm up the PIO for a few minutes before injecting (makes it easier to draw up and inject), and I go in nice and slow and inject slowly. I found that darting it in hurt much more. I also noticed that when I give them to myself, I'm standing and they would never hurt. When DH does them (he has to do my left hip since I can't twist around to do it myself), I used to lean over the bathroom counter and they would hurt. Now I stand like I would when giving them to myself, and they don't hurt anymore. Then I put a warm pack on for like 15 minutes after. Now, I do get bruises and it'll be sore the next day, but its not bad.
I draw up with an 18g needle and inject with a 22g needle. And I do 1ml for each injection. You got this!

Thanks Mushe and kellikans! I know I'm being silly about it, but I don't have much padding there! I'm going to save your suggestions so I can refer back to them.

I agree that PIO was not as bad as I expected. The Med itself did not burn and I actually did not feel it like the abdomen subq ones. My butt muscles were sore when running up until recently though. I blame it on the jiggling, otherwise I would not have felt it so long.
thoseareradishes The first shot is the worst and honestly...the anticipation was worse then the shot. I cried, I yelled, I ran around the house with my H chasing me. When he finally did it I looked at him and said, "that's it?" It's gotten to the point where I don't even have to heat it before hand because it really doesn't hurt. Good luck! As for dinner, my favorites lately are spaghetti and zoodles with bolognese, chicken lettuce wraps, tofu fries with broccoli steaks, spicy pork stir fry, Greek pita pizzas, and Korean BBQ tofu bowls (but you could use chicken or pork instead)
Chrysanthemum and thoseareradishes RE what Mushe said. When I did my PIO in sesame oil it was thick. It didn't hurt but after 10 days my butt looked like cottage cheese from a reaction. The last 2 times I did PIO in olive oil and it was awesome. Much thinner, no reaction, no problem. Good luck starryfish,

Ugh, I am so sorry knx9211, I hope your doctor is wrong. ((( @bigredgum))) pixy0stix, When is your expected ER? I'm sorry your grandpa is in the hospital. Thanks for the great tips about PIO kellikans, Mushe, and King26. For now I have the kind in sesame oil (just one vial), so if I'm lucky enough to need more (i.e. Get a BFP), I'll ask for the Ethel olate or whatever for next time. Honestly, I'm most nervous about relying on my H to do this for me. I do all my own shots except for trigger, so this will be a regular occurrence. My H is very busy and has crazy long days as he finishes grad school and I am ANAL about doing these shots on time. Whatever it will all be fine.
Work is so busy this week, I have work things into the evening every night this week. It bums be out bc I won't get to barre and there's only a few chances left before I'm on exercise restrictions again. Not much else new since yesterday.
