We've been happy with the prince lionheart ones. I'm not a big believer in the piddle pads unless you have some reason to be driving for a LOOOOOONG time without changing diapers.
I'd skip both (unless the seat protector is the same brand as your car seat). Off brands haven't been tested by the manufacturers and could compromise the carseat's performance in a crash.
My sister and her fiance got piddle pads, which they thought was important since they have a lake house that is around 2 hours away. Both of their boys have had blow outs in the car and I almost vomited but that was a bad day all around.
ETA their kids are 4 and 6 so... might make a difference

I also vote no for both. I feel like you'd still need to wash the carseat cover in the case of an accident... even if you have a piddle pad? It shouldn't be a big deal to take the cover off and wash it. My manual was fine with that as long as I air dry it.

Seat protectors are not recommended by car seat techs and most warn against them. I never used one, even with leather in my old car. I don't mess around with safety stuff.
