I'm glad she's reached a sanctuary. May beautiful Nahla have a loving and peaceful life.
Side note: it's kind of funny/ironic that the Conroe mascot is a tiger and painted on the water tower. There are foot prints painted on the road where she was found, down closer to the high school.
Didn't something similar happen in a movie...in Vegas?
But seriously, WTH is going on..this whole story is weird! But I am slightly jealous that I wasn't the one that found a friendly tiger so I could play with it and then call 911.

Me too (devil)
Add me to this list!! I'd LOVE to find a friendly tiger!!!
This whole story is weird. I'm really trying to figure out what was going on... Flooding was happening, so the guy put his pet tiger on a leash and tried to walk it to a friends house? Then the tiger was just going to chill on the friends couch or something? But the tiger got loose so the owner was just like "oops! I'm not going to try to find the tiger! I'm just going to go chill out at home. Tiger will find its way back. No biggie." Then some random guy tried to steal the tiger? I guess he was just going to put it in his backseat and go home? Don't tigers need special accommodations?

I think the bolded above is the root of the problem here.
From what I've read: The guy says he purchased the tiger from a unethical situation. He was planning to get or had applied for proper permits, he says and was planning to get it to a proper sanctuary. During the floods, he was supposedly transporting it out of danger/flooded area. Tiger gets away...yeah, I am also unclear on the "oops factor" as I'd be losing my shit. Dumbass that lost the tiger, wants it back but seems shady with the whole incognito for his own protection. So, as far as I can tell, he never notified anyone there was a freakin' tiger at large (WTF) and luckily, she was sweet and had apparently eaten before she started kissing on people. The whole thing is bizarre.
ETA: I am so glad some lunatic with a gun didn't shoot her. Poor baby.

I am truly stunned by this whole situation. The guy just seems so carefree about it all. I'm so happy that the tiger is safe and in a better environment now.
