My nephew is turning 16 this summer. I'd like to get him something somewhat memorable and special. Budget is $250-$500. He's 6'6', plays sports, getting his permit on his birthday. Needs to be something somewhat repeatable because his brother turns 16 next fall.

Jersey of his favorite player, practice net for football/baseball/golf, tickets to his favorite pro team game, etc. if you tell me which sport, I can be more specific.
We typically do a really nice watch on the 16th as a tradition. However, I think that would make a better 18th/graduation present and since he's looking to get a car, I'd go with the cash. Money is memorable, especially larger denominations.
My mom got me a Tiffany's key chain for my 16th. It was such a meaningful and memorable gift- I still use it 15 years later. I would buy a nice key chain, something like Chipolo to link his keys with his phone so he doesn't lose them, and a gas gift card with the rest.

Gift Card. Maybe something nice that is under $50 and the rest as a gift card but he's 16. The chances he will keep anything sentimental over the next few years are pretty slim.
