Baby's first night at home went really well! He actually slept part of the night in the cosleeper and didn't get me up for the day until 7am!
He's starting to nurse well. I had to supplement with formula a bit last night because i just don't make enough and poor kid sucked it down... he was so hungry! But my supply seems to be improving so there's hope that EBF might happen!
B thinks P is the coolest baby EVER! This is never going to change, right?! ;-)
L is still obsessed with M, so I vote it will never change. We'll reconvene during the teen years
Got up made the Mac n cheese for the party, got the shredded pork in the crockpot for BBQ, and then E and I frosted her cupcakes. It feels so good to cook and bake in the kitchen. I'm still pretty rusty with the cupcake decorating.
For the THIRD TIME THIS WEEK mh has flaked when he was supposed to be home with the kids because I had a work thing. He was out of town yesterday for an interview and was supposed to get back at 9 this morning. He overslept and missed his flight. I'm supposed to teach a private class from 11-2.
I've called all three of my babysitters. Only one has answered so far and she said no.
I am annoyed at P. He will take 4-6 steps independently for everyone but me. His teachers have seen it, his therapists have seen it, MIL and C have seen it. THROW ME A BONE CHILD.

I had a big presentation yesterday--an hour long presentation for about 350 leaders. It went so well! I had about 15 people tell me I was the best of the day and my boss was super pleased (and does not hand out praise lightly). I'm still feeling amazing about it today!
Everyone in our house is up a bit earlier than normal this morning.
There is something living in our attic. I think it's a squirrel and H thinks it's a bird. I am glad I am not the one that has to go up and get it, good luck H.
I briefly touched on this in my strep thread but I am so angry at our urgent care. Bear wth me, it's long.
Last Thursday DD (2) felt warm at school pick up so when we got home I took her temp- 100.4
The next day a diaper rash showed up and the fever continued. Started Desitin and continued monitoring her temp- she consistently ran 99.8-100.5 from Thursday to Monday when I called the pedi for an appt. They scheduled us for Friday and in the meantime the rash got way worse.
Tuesday I took her to urgent care. They said maybe yeast infection, maybe UTI and gave me Nystatin.
Rash got worse, fever kept up so Thursday I took her back to urgent care. They still said probably just yeast/UTI and gave me Abx and stronger antifungal.
Friday morning we saw the pedi. By this point the rash is unbelievable, it's bleeding, DD is completely miserable. Pedi took one look, guessed strep and sure enough, throat swab came back positive right away.
So she gave her an Abx shot and an Rx antibacterial cream.
I feel like I failed her and I feel like urgent care failed her. Her rash is so bad. It makes me tear up every time I see it.
She had no symptoms other than the low grade fever and rash.
At work, and not happy to be here. E has been sick and didn't sleep well last night. And this morning, he was crying and reaching for me as I was trying to say goodbye to him and DH. This is not usual, but maybe it's that normal separation anxiety?
I think E's fever broke overnight. FX. DH hasn't mentioned any fever yet today.
Omg I may have convinced H to trim his way too long beard!!!! He is getting a haircut and likes Chris Pratt so I showed him this pic and mentioned "the haircut looks great with that length beard" AND HE AGREED!!!
H leaves for a week tomorrow. He took C out and about for awhile this morning. I did laundry, dishes, organized, put a few clothing items in the donation pile and am now getting migraine auras. Eff

We are at karate again. Our neighbor is having an open house so we're trying to clear out. This not our normal day. But it is a group lesson and I'm very surprised L is doing so well with so many other kids around!

We are at gymnastics. Dd's coach is a teenage boy and I'm pretty sure he adores her. It's so cute
Then off to target to refill all my prescriptions; we start a month wo health ins for me and dd tomorrow. Yikes. I do have more than enough in my HSA to pay for cobra but I'm not going to do that unless we have to retroactively. Fingers crossed for no major medical issues in May.

Exhausted today. R had his first fever yesterday but not sure why. It was low grade and I only discovered because we went for his 6 month appt. He was otherwise acting normal so they still gave him his vaccines, but of course he was then a bear last night. I'm wiped.
We're on our way to see/go up the St Louis Arch and the Budwiser brewery. Unfortunately it's raining, but both those things are inside at least. Then we're going to ikea! I want to get the cheap table for James. James is in a really bad mood though. He went to bed late because of the wedding, tossed and turned, woke up screaming at 1 and then decided 6 was a good time to get up. I think he may have dozed off and on for the next hour or so. I am so tired.

I let ds take a short nap on the couch yesterday afternoon. As a result, he didn't fall asleep until 11 last night. And was up at 630 this morning saying he wanted to watch a show because his room was too scary and he didn't want to go back to sleep. Today we drive down for a weekend away with my dad. He's living it up while his wife is out of town. I haven't spent this much time with my dad since high school, probably?
DH & DS just left to go out to lunch together. It's so sweet! They're meeting up with my FIL, too. I'm home alone for the first time in forever!!!! It's amazing. I'm debating between just being lazy and taking a shower so that I can be productive during nap time.
Update: FIL decided to take DS back to his house for nap time! Alone time for me and now time with DH!!

We came home to a leaking kitchen sink last night, so went out to dinner. DD always wants ribs these days, which is not MM, so I eat her kid's meal while she chows the expensive adult entree.
Aww quesyrah you didn't fail her! In my experience, Urgent Care sucks at diagnosing children. Around age 2, DS came down with a weird rash on a Saturday. We took him to Urgent Care, they diagnosed heat rash, told us to give him a cool bath and loose cotton clothes. A week later it was worse, they diagnosed molluscum (a virus kinda like dozens of little warts) which they said could take 6-12 MONTHS to clear up on its own. We waited another MONTH and it was worse, so I finally went to the pedi. He diagnosed contact dermatitis, and showed me the pattern of how someone was applying a substance onto his skin. We finally figured out that my sweet mother, a nurse no less, was using bubble SOLUTION (like from a bubble wand) in DS's baths b/c she ran out of bubble bath. We we luckily DS didn't go blind!! We obviously got rid of that, and the rash quickly healed. He still has some lingering spots almost 2 years later. I don't feel all all like I failed DS, Urgent Care did IMHO.
