I think you should try to wait until 40w. If you're favorable for an induction, go for it. If at that point, you're not favorable and over it, schedule the C/S.
I would wait. A lot can happen in 10 days to start. Growth ultrasounds are notoriously wrong. And anecdotally, the size of the baby had nothing to do with how hard the labor was or the damage I had - in fact the bigger baby was the easiest. That's only my experience, of course. I do agree with holding off on the epi if you can to increase the positions you can both labor and deliver in - with my largest baby he was stuck for a hot second but I quickly flipped over and they popped him out easily. I would think it would have been much harder if not impossible had I had the epi. Again. Anecdote.
I scheduled an induction and 39 weeks and I'll do it again. I was dealing with so much anxiety and scheduling it made me feel more in command of the situation. That power over the circumstances were worth a lot to me. I realize this is unpopular.
