Been sick since Thursday, finally diagnosed as strep today – Z pack for the win!
Also, because of the sick, I'm taking a bath in the middle of the day (-ish) and my husband just delivered fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies to my bath-side.
milsaroo Yeah, their realtor should be telling them all about rent backs. I'd much rather have a buyer for my house locked up than find the perfect house to buy and *then* have to sell my place in a crunch.
juliej, that like was for the cookies and rent back suggestion (not the strep, obviously).
So pissed because I realized one of my favorite festivals was happening this weekend and I didn't even remember. I need a festival calendar. I don't want to miss anything else. It's happening tomorrow, but we're going down to see DS and take him and a friend to an early dinner.
I ordered a dress and the more I think about it, the more I think I should cancel my order. I felt good that although it was full price, my coupon code was for 30% off. I could probably save even more if I wait for it to go on sale. The never pay retail game is fraught with uneasiness.

milsaroo That's frustrating. If that's the way they want to roll, perhaps they should take their house off the market until they find the perfect house.
I would think it's rare that every.single.thing falls into place, while silmultaneously looking for and selling a house at the same time. That's the chance you take of having to possibly pay two mortgages at the same time.
Unless you're in a smoking hot market, I'd rather have a buyer lined up, than to mull over offers that people may rescind due to slowness in responding, and then on top of that say, we're waiting til we find the perfect house.
Some friends came over to see BB and then I went out to dinner with them. But I missed my baby and felt weird. It gets easier right? But at the same time it was nice.
That version is beautiful! I was listening to it and MH was asking what I was listening to, so I told him. He's used to the Michael Buble version and didn't recognize it. (I shamelessly will listen to it loudly in my car.)
Sitting here in the dark wth our camp lateen going. We've been without power since 10:45 this morning due to a tree down on a power line. We left for dinner at 7:15 and there were 4 trucks working on the line and they were still going when we got back. I'm hoping it comes back overnight.
Thankfully it didn't get too hot today so the house isn't to unbearable. We did toss everything in the fridge/freezer minus some stuff we put in coolers full of ice.

sfy I,too, got goosebumps the first time I heard this version.
She sounds just like her dad. I love her. Not sure if you have Amazon Prime, but you should check out the album she did with Joe Sample on Prime Music. So beautiful.
I haven't posted much lately. Here's a snapsot of what's going on in my life:
DH graduates next week. Still no job in sight but applying like mad. To make it MM, he asked me to run a summer budget so I used YNAB to project out through August to get an idea of what life will be like on just my income. He's applying for a call center job at the company I work for (should be pretty much a guarantee for him, but it's a lame job NOT using his degree in any way). He's also picking up random odd jobs and side work.
I had my Lean In event yesterday. It was a smash success! Seriously, there were no issues whatsoever! We had 47 attendees, lunch was yummy, the keynote was interesting, people TALKED non-stop (so much that you'd have no idea we were mostly strangers), the playlist was rocking...I'm not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best days of my life and is one of my proudest accomplishments. We want to make it an annual event now.
Also, quick responses to several of you! I'm back to "creepy lurker" status these days, but I swear I check in and read despite not posting much lately!
milsaroo , house dust to you! I caught your pictures of Baby Roo the other day and she is precious!
orangeblossom , Good luck wrapping up this semester! I know school has taken over your life, but power on!
@shoegal - so glad to see you posting more again! I love, love, love what you wrote to winnieandwine about her sister. Winnie - I hope that when my sisters are in college my DH and I can support them as you do yours. It means so much to pay it forward.
sfy and Winnie - I haven't checked out "Lemonade" yet, but your responses have inspired me to. I will make sure I give it a listen (and watch if I can somehow) this week.
raangoli , All the BB updates warm my heart. She is such a strong little girl!
@bellakitty , FB reminded me your Lean In event was happening - I'm so happy it was incredibly successful! Congrats!
My friend didn't get to come because her mom is very ill and in the hospital. So glad to hear it was a terrific success!
I'm so sorry to hear that. We hope to make this an annual event so I will certainly let you know if/when we do it again!
I wondered if she was there, but no one approached me and said, "so you know my friend from this creepy online message board..." so I figured she wasn't there, haha.
What happened to ruralrabbit1? I love her pics of her sweet puppy.
I was asking this a few weeks ago in the getting healthy thread. I don't think she has a new name? I usually try to let people go in peace lol, but I'm failing this time around!
@bellakitty, that was very sweet of you to welcome me back
Congratulations on your event!!!!!!!! It sounds like it was absolutely superb and you put together an amazing and empowering experience, you go girl!!!!!
