My little dude started kindergarten this past week {{sniffle}} and will start having homework Tuesday. I did this desk for his room so he has spots for all his little school treasures, pencils, rulers and crayons. {{sniffle again}}
The little file cabinet set of drawers, the desk top and the stool are all from Ikea. I just painted the drawer fronts before putting them together and swapped out the casters it came with for bigger ones do it would be the same height as the other legs.
Thanks everyone! Jackson loves it too. His first two comments were: #1: I can put my crayons in here and Kate won't know which drawer they are in #2: and when I pick my nose, I can get a tissue here.

Five year olds. Sheesh.
At least he didn't say he could put his boogers in that drawer and hide them

That's where MY 5 year old would have gone with that sentence lol. (I'm ashamed at the fact that he thinks wiping things on the wall is okay. Not even sure where he got that idea!)
Looks awesome!! Can you post your steps? What kind of paint did you use?
The drawers are Helmer drawers. I used a primer the dude at Benjamin Moore recommended for prepping that type of surface. I let that sit for a while. I bought paint samples in six colors and face each drawer front a couple of coats with a roller. Then I assembled the drawers and swapped out the casters for slightly taller ones to raise the drawers up to the right height. I bought a vika desktop and 3 vika legs.
It cost about $100 + paint and primer (with a crap ton leftover- now I need to figure out what else to paint orange)
