Hi. I've lurked here often, I'm in MN, and I have started running, and I like it, so I am investing in some good shoes. I've walked some 5 and 7ks, but I'm ready to pick it up. I joined a running group, and I have a trainer helping me go at the right pace and such.
I live in St. Paul, and I believe there are several MN ladies around here, so can anyone direct me to a good shop to get fitted for good shoes.
And for an intro if anyone wants it, I'm Aurora, mom of 2 DS is 3.5 and DD is 2.5. I'm grossly overweight so my knees take a beating when running. I have to pups, a pit mix - Yoshi and a Rottie mix - Kirby.
Hi! I am in the TC metro as well (south burbs). My DS is 2.
I've heard good things about run n fun in St. Paul, but I haven't been there. I also like Fleet Feet/Marathon Sports in Minneapolis
My personal favorite is the shoe whisperer, Wendi at Gear West out in Long Lake. It's a bit of a drive, but I found the fitting to be worth it. It costs $50. You have to book an appt, and they only book 1 month out. I've been able to snag other people's cancellations though.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
I second this. Wendi is amazing, and it's really a unique and helpful experience being fitted by someone so knowledgable. Totally worth it.

Hi! I am in MN, too. Barreeely considered still in the metro
Like jene said, I've heard good things about Run n Fun. I've been to Marathon Sports in South Minneapolis for shoe fittings before and have been happy with them. A few of my friends are members of Mill City Running and love their store. Can't comment on it personally.
