I've gotten some really solid tempo miles in the last two weeks. Between 7:30-40s. While I'm sad that Boston is over, it feels good to be pushing the pace and not worrying about an injury destroying my trip to Boston.
I ran 15 miles on Sunday and I have 20-22 tomorrow. This is a big deal because I usually turn into a sloth after a marathon, but Boston felt so easy (mentally & somewhat physically) I'm actually enjoying it.
With that said, it will probably be 100* in FL when I fly home from the marathon, so I will resume my slothy activities after this next race.

Dude, I think you have earned all the slothiness you want after your performances!
You guys are all so fab! I am running faster than I ever have which feels great, but now I just want to run faster. Trying to think of some training plans to make that happen...

Are you running two back to back?
6 wks apart. I have Mountains 2 Beach in CA 5/29. I basically cut back to 6 the weekend after Boston, then did 15, this weekend I'll do another 20 or so, then re-taper. It's one big experiment, really. I have no idea what I'm doing. LOL
1) I swam twice this week and have a swim planned for the weekend too 2) I strength trained for 3 hours (what?? who am i?) and increased the weight on my hip bridges and dead lifts, and decreased the offset on my assisted pullups. I'm determined to achieve the pullup this year!
I haven't been on this board in awhile, but I wanted to ease my way back and join y'all again.
Three weeks ago, I signed up for a month long boot camp style fitness program called Camp Gladiator (I know the program is in several states, but I don't think it's everywhere.) Today was the end of week 3.
I've been working out 3-4 days a week for the last three weeks. On day one I couldn't do a single push-up, modified or otherwise. I could barely shuffle/jog any of the warm-up sprints. I couldn't hold a plank for more than 20 seconds.
Today, workout #10, I was able to do 10 chest-to-ground push-ups. I ran every run interval and truly sprinted during sprints. Proudest of all, I held plank pose for a whole minute!

I really worked out my legs last night for the first time in about a month. I'm a little sore today, but nothing debilitating. Not slacking on strength training during half training is actually paying off.
