Heading to STL for the weekend for a wedding. Neither DH or I have been there before. I have tonight, tomorrow day and Sunday free. I really want to see the arch and go to a Cardinals game.

There's a fun beer festival in Forest Park this weekend: stlmicrofest.org. Forest Park, itself, is really cool too. There is a great zoo, museums, etc... You can also rent a peddle boat and see the park from the canal system.
Cardinals games are definitely fun, I'm actually going tonight I think there's an afternoon game tomorrow, too.
I like Sauce on the Side (Calzones) and Baileys Range (Burgers) downtown. Seoul Taco (quick serve korean-mexican) is good in University City and I enjoyed Niche Brasserie (French) in the Central West End for something a little fancier.
Here's my running STL list, have fun - I love that city!
Food: Bailey's Range Rooster Dewey's Pizza Eleven Eleven Mississippi Charlie Gitto's on The Hill Imo's Pizza (order the Deluxe and Toasted Raviolis) Schafly Tap Room Pappy's Smokehouse Boathouse in Forest Park (perfect lunch spot after the zoo) Dressel's Public House in the Central West End (get the homemade chips with rarebit) Sasha's on DuMonde Mike Shannon's downtown Mission Taco Joint
Dessert: Ted Drewes Crown Candy Kitchen Fountain on Locust Bailey's Chocolate Bar
To do: Saturday morning Farmer's Market in Soulard (get a hot ham and cheese sandwich and a bloody mary) Butterfly House in Chesterfield Tour of Anheuser-Busch Tour of Busch Stadium City Garden Museums in Forest Park - art and history (all free) Zoo (free) Moolah Theatre (movie theatre with food and couches)
if you have time I hear the City Museum is awesome.
We are going next weekend for a long weekend with our 3 year old and the grandparents so most of our activities are kid related
Going to check out the restaurants people above mentioned though, still trying to plan our meals!
Next weekend the Blue Angels are in town. I AM SO EXCITED!
Everyone else had really good recs. Only place that I really enjoy lately not on the list is the Gramophone for sandwiches. They're so delicious. And Urban Chestnut brewery is just down the street if you want a local brew house. I love the Grove.

we saw the Blue Angels practice in Florida a couple of years ago! It was really cool but SO LOUD! lol
I'm hoping we have good weather when we are in town since 2/3rds of our plans are outdoors (zoo, botanical garden). I wish my ILs weren't coming so we could eat at more adventurous restaurants.

That's the best part! I will bring headphones for the kids though. DS freaked out when we went the Cards game a few weeks ago and someone hit a homerun and everyone cheered. I hope it's good weather too next weekend since I already bought airshow tix!
If it rains, there's the Magic House, Myseum, Science Center, History Museum (they have a fun kid area and the current main exhibit is all about Little Black Dresses) and I'm sure more that I can't think of right now!
And boring food is my expertise, so if you need any recs for that, let me know. DH is not adventurous either.
jlt19 we are doing breakfast at our hotel, packing picnic lunches, and going out for dinner on Thurs/Fri/Sat. My MIL is the picky one and usually just eats a salad, which rules out a lot of the more exciting ethnic restaurants.
We are going to do something in the Italian district one night, which one would you recommend that is kid friendly?
Bailey's Range one night most likely as we want to go down to the sculpture park nearby.

We are staying close to Forest Park.
You can't go wrong on the Hill. I'd say Rigazzis or Zias are good for kids. I'd stay away from Gittos or Cunettos.
Seamus McDaniels, Three Monkeys, and Felixs pizza are good near the south side of the park. And anything in the Central West End will be yummy, but fancier on the NE side. Hope you have fun!

I would go to the City Museum over the Magic House. WAY cooler.
