Seriously. Since they're 40% off today I caved and bought two pairs even though I'll probably only get a month of wear out of them, lol. I sized up twice to get as much time as I can before my pregnant belly appears. Ha.

I never wear shorta because I hate my legs. I am 38 and bought them today and I love them. I am normally a 12 and went with the 14. The store was buy one get a second short for $10 so I bought the midi in the cuffed along with the cut off. MH said they made my ass look great....lol.
I went two sizes up, one because I always size up in shorts so they hang lower, one because people said to size up in this brand in particular. And because the person in this thread who is my weight said going up one size wasn't enough. I hope I didn't size too far up.
So if size 4 AE jeans are TIGHT and 6's fit a bit loose by the end of the day, and all of my weight is in my hips, ass, and thighs, will an 8 be good for these? Or should I do a 10?

Order one of both. On the frayed kind I think you could do an 8. On the cuffed I would do a 10.

I did an 8 and I'm a 4 normally (in companies that size generously, a 6 really). I'll let you know how mine fit, but I only got the frayed not the rolled.
I'm normally a size 4 and went with a size 8. I tried them on in the store this weekend and got 2 pair for $50 (shorts were buy 1 get one pair for $10). I ended up with the rolled denim and a pair of regular blue midi shorts.
Size 8 fits perfectly. I'll download tapatalk and post a pic later.

I never even considered AE shorts, but the pics in this post have made me reconsider. Nothing fits since the baby weight is hanging on so maybe I'll grab some. thanks ladies!

I'm considering picking up a pair too, even if I only get a little use out of them this year.

So odd. The reviews say to size down. I always think ae is tts.
That's because they are all teenagers wanting to wear booty shorts and there are longer! Lol.
Agree. I size up shorts and jean skirts so I can wear them low on the hips and get a few extra inches. I don't recall being concerned about that in my youth.
So I can't get this straight....if I already wear a a size 8 in AE shorts am I totally fucked because I ordered the frayed ones in a 8? My other shorts are loose enough.
But then TR and Elle are ordering 8s and now I think I should be like ordering a 14 lol.

Try them when they come. You may want a 10 though.
I just tried ordering online, and it was $20 for shipping on a $40 pair of shorts that would arrive June 14th. Lolol forever, Canada post. Looks like I'll actually have to make a trip to the mall. Fuck.

And returns from their online orders in Canada are a HUGE pain in the ass, IMO. You pay for return shipping, then you wait 6-8 weeks to have your credit card adjusted.
I really need some new AE jeggings, but I just can't suck it up to order.
These are the "denim X midi" short, right? There's another that looks just like them but it's not the "x denim." I have AE jeggings in a 12 and they're slightly big (I'd prob get a 10 next time), so I am thinking a 14 should be good for the shorts? I definitely have ample junk in the trunk and don't want them to be obscene. :-0
Yes, the cut off ones are stretch though. Make sure you get the stretch. Ha.

I tried on the shorts this weekend and agree they were super comfy, however, they were too short for me. Are they the only short type that runs small? I tried on the bermuda stretch and they were also very comfy and I felt more comfortable in them. I tried on the 14, but i have never bought AE jeans before, so not sure of the size. I was able to slip them on/off without unbuttoning so I think that was a bit too big. There was no 12 or 10 in the store to try on. I am 5'4 and 155lbs with most of my weight on my lower half for reference.
