How is your week going? Anything exciting going on? What are you reading?
QOTW: Since there are Federal Elections going on all over the world, can you name the heads of state/government for 5 countries, not counting the country in which you current live?
Super busy week, busy weekend coming up, and then I think things will finally calm down a bit. Maybe.
I'm reading Join by Steve Toutonghi. It's pretty good and worth reading but not likely to be a five-star amazing book, so far anyway. It's about a future society where technology allows people to join into one shared mind, so you become a group of people united by one shared brain that coordinates all the bodies in the join. Fascinating concept -- taking the idea of walking in another person's shoes to a new level.
QOTW: no. I need to work on that. I could recognize names but not come up with them.
I'm listening to "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" by Stephen King and reading an anthology of short stories called "Shifting Shadows" by Patricia Briggs (all set in the Mercy Thompson world). Both are great!
QOTW: Yes, but primarily because I just spent the last two weeks visiting four countries lol
My week has gone by very fast, which means it has gone well.
I am reading: I Can Barely Take Care of Myself: Tales From a Happy Life Without Kids, by Jen Kirkman. It's fine. Nothing exciting, a time passer, really.
And still reading: Anatomy of Love: A Natural History of Mating, Marriage, and Why We Stray, by Helen Fisher.

My week was busy and good. I just finished The Marriage of Opposites by Alice Hoffman. I really enjoyed it. I am now reading All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven.
QOTW: Yes, but that's because DH is such a newshound. Ashraf Ghani, Angela Merkel, David Cameron, Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, King Peggy, and the hottest one, Canada's Justin Trudeau.

I'm listening to The Sin Eater's Daughter and reading A Court of Mist and Fury. I'm really enjoying the latter and the formers is enjoyable, but cutesy.

I just got notified that The Raven Boys is available from my library, so I'll be starting that (based on all the chatter about this series on the board).
QOTW: No, but when sassypants gave her list, I thought, "Oh yeah, I forgot about that one!" I knew the names, but couldn't have come up with that list just out of my own brain.

I just finished The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. I'm starting I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith (I enjoyed the movie.)
Off the top of my head, I can get 4 leaders, but they are very obvious ones and I'm not very proud of myself. If I took a minute and focused, I might be able to eek out a 5th.

QoTW: Yes, but not much more than that.
I own The Sin Eater's Daughter but I've never read it. I have it in a physical book.

Tag me when you are done with A Court of Mist and Fury. I need to talk about it.

Will do. I'm about 150 pages in and I just can't seem to find long stretches to sink into it. I feel like if I was able to give it an hour two I would dive in deep.
I just finished The Cuckoo's Calling yesterday morning, and I haven't started anything new, so I'm back on The Cider House Rules. :-#
QOTW: Yes, but only the easy ones - Canada, UK, Germany, Russia, and North Korea. I can name the past two presidents of Mexico, but I was wrong about the current guy. I can also tell you that the leaders of Brazil, North Korea, and Tawain (just sworn in today actually) are all women, but I couldn't tell you their names.

I dropped Winter at Death's Hotel as soon as The Alexandria Affair hit my Kindle Tuesday afternoon, and I'm two chapters away from finishing. Then I'll go back to the Louisa Conan Doyle mystery. Both are very enjoyable, but different.
QOTW: I have to think about it, but yes, I can name at least 5: the US (which might be cheating a bit), Canada, New Zealand, Indonesia, Japan, UK, Germany, Brazil, Zimbabwe, and a couple of recently ousted leaders.

Brazil's leader is a woman -- I keep wanting to call her Wilma Rudolph, but I know that's wrong -- but she's currently under investigation and has been temporarily removed from office -- though the Vice President isn't any better as far as being under investigation. It's crazy.

I live next door to Mexico and I have to stop and think about who is the current president. I have to keep reminding myself that Fox hasn't been in office in years!

Me too. But then my Dad had to deal with Fox about some engineering project when he was Governor of Guanajuato so it's the only name I associate with Mexican politics.

QOTW: No
I have this book and can not seem to get myself motivated to pick it up and read it. I am looking for a lighter read, will this fit?
