Just got waxed for the first time

And I cried pretty much the whole time. Worse pain of my life! I felt like an idiot, but it hurt so bad. She kept saying it won't hurtas bad the next time. There will be no next time!

Anyone else hate waxing and cry like a baby when you got it done?

Awww.  It usually helps to take Advil about an hour before.  I did laser hair removal 2 years ago because waxing was annoying, expensive and it hurts!

Brazilians don't bother me, but I will never ever wax my legs again. That was the worst pain of my life, far worse than any tattoo or any waxing I've ever had. So I get it if you never want to try again.

Just curious, did you go to someone who specializes in Brazilians? I've done it a couple of times and it wasn't TERRIBLE (I mean, it wasn't great, but I was expecting a lot worse).

I attempted to wax my own legs once. I ripped off exactly one strip and said "fuck this." That one strip of leg was inflamed for like two days. I decided then that my skin would not tolerate waxing, and I would not risk the damage to my crotch, lol.

This is so, so, so true! Waxing my legs hurt worse than my tattoo and getting laser hair removal on my armpits.

I guess it gets better...I remember hating my first few times, but now it's no more pain than ripping some duct tape off. I go to a waxer who specializes in Brazilians, and it is so easy and fast...I'm in and out in 15 minutes.

I got a Brazilian, so I got it ALL waxed.

They had great reviews on Yelp, but I don't know if they specialize in Brazilians and I'm not sure what kind of wax she used.

I've given it many chances, it only got more painful (granted I didn't do it frequently). My hair WON'T come out. It just won't. I've gone to highly recommended experts in Brazillians and they get this worried look on their face when they tug a chunk of wax and it won't come off. I'm shaking , bleeding, and sweating by the end. The last and final time was the day before my wedding, I made her stop halfway through and I left. Had to ice that night to calm the area down, and went on my honeymoon with a half bald and half stubbly crotch.

I think the hard wax hurts far less. My waxer gets my finer/shorter hairs off with hard wax and it feel like a piece of cake.

Aw that's too bad. I got my first wax a month ago (Brazilian also) and while it was painful it was tolerable for me and I'm planning on doing it again because even though it is growing back it is so thin and was smooth for so long. I loved it. AND it made me want to have sex all the time (you know...get my moneys worth out of the wax lol). I hope you find something that works for you!

I get waxed once every five years when I have forgotten how much it sucks. The last time the lady kept showing me the strips and telling me just how hairy I am, or was. :/

Me too. My eyes water and I can barely open them right after. I cannot imagine getting my hoo ha waxed.

I've never waxed.

The only torture I've put myself through is hair remover with an epilator. My pit hair grows too fast so I put up with the pain to get a smooth armpit. It hurts less after you been doing it for a while but still sucks.

I've heard sugaring is much less painful than waxing and you get the same results? Has anyone tried that? I don't know much about it but it seems like a downside might be that the process takes longer since it deals with a smaller area than a strip of wax.

I got my first wax right before my wedding. It was painful, I also sweat and shake and bleed. I had it done about three times before I decided it just wasn't getting better and maybe even worse.

It does get better. I don't find it to be pleasant by any means and it definitely hurts worse when you are closer to your period, but it's easier than shaving, ingrown hairs and razor burn.

In my experience, sugaring hurts less.
