Members taking part in the filibuster don't have to be present for the whole thing, right? The next batch can be catching Zzz's to come out fresh, yeah?

Correct, except for Murphy who started it. He cannot sit, he cannot leave. He can only drink milk or water, no food.

Ohhhh I didn't realize Murphy couldn't sit/leave/eat real food when he cedes the floor to someone. Yiiiiikes. I was gonna say, shit, we've got plenty of people -- bring on the Korean record, too!

Murphy has to stay on the floor, standing, no food, for the whole thing. He's said Booker has done the same, so far.

They usually get done in by needing to pee.
I wonder if he's wearing a diaper, lol. I am thoroughly impressed. I am not a Dem. I am a gun owner. I support gun reform and this filibuster wholeheartedly. I wish them success.
What did he say?! I'm not watching. CEP and ML are keeping me informed tonight.
They got a commitment from Republicans to get votes on the terror gap and background checks.
Good. H and I talked about this tonight. We own guns (primarily for hunting, though we do have a handgun we take when hiking/fishing for bear protection). There are a lot of things he and I discussed that are very reasonable laws that do not infringe on owning guns. I support change.

Yes. How is this still an issue when 90% of the county AGREES with what they're proposing?! I still don't fucking get it.
It appears your country values the right to own weapons for an enemy who may one day invade but cannot be identified over the right to life.
Every man, woman and child for themselves. If you don't personally have weapons you'll probably die because no one else will step up to protect you.
If only you had an army for defence.
We don't have enough money to fund an army, don't ya know? lol.
My favorite argument is that people need assault weapons to protect themselves from the government. You mean the ground troops that are your neighbors, that you are vocal about honoring (or you are serving yourself)? Or the government that has fighter jets and nukes?
