She got a job working at a publishing factory because THIS IS PERFECT FOR AN AUTHOR.
Her feet hurt.
June 26 at 8:58pm Wel time for this momma to head to bed. Up early for my orientation and first day of work! AHHH! My first time away for my babies for 10 plus hours for work. Not sure how I will handle that, but I think I'll be fine. Night!
June 27 at 7:08am Time to head out. Was hoping the puffiness in my eye would be down, but no such luck. Have a good day everyone!
June 27 at 7:50am Here and waiting in orientation to start. Nervous and excited all at the same time. Lol!
June 27 at 8:32pm What a day! lol! Sweating like a pig in the stacks but that;'s okay. I had fun. The day went fast while we were on the floor. Now, let's see if I can do this for hours instead of 9. I'm sure I can. But 5 am is going to come mighty early. Good night, world!
June 28 at 1:39pm 10 minutes is not enough time to get my feet to quit hurting😢 Well back to work.
June 28 at 8:36pm Half an hour, then it's bedtime for me. Thinking that propping my feet tonight will help with the way my big toes feel. They feel swollen and throbbing like I dropped a bowling ball on both big toes this time. And it's been 12 years since the bowling ball fell off the ball return and onto my right toe. The toe nail never has been the same. Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully I won't be limping around from overly sore feet.
23 hrs Anyone have any good advice to stop the aching feet? Besides changing shoes. I'm going to try a different pair of shoes tomorrow and see if they help a little. I only have one more day this week. Lucky me, and 5 others got out of the over time this week because of us just starting this week. Won't be so lucky next week.
12 hrs Time to get a move on. Have a great y'all! Only 10 more hours of work plus a half hour lunch break and I'll have myself a 4 day weekend.
2 hrs Off an hour early today. What?! My feet thank the boss for letting some of us out early.
29 mins Aside from my feet, I feel like I have a bunch of paper cuts along my arms. Oh, and the books bruised the inside of arm. But I still love books. That'll never change. Lol!

I can't believe it's been 12 years since that bowling ball fell off the return onto her foot! Wow. Time sure does get away from you.
So did she get any suggestions for her aching feet?
IF YOU INSIST
Enabler 1: I've been soaking mine for 20 mins after work
B McW: In warm or cold water? H had me soaking my feet in ice cold water yesterday and it made my feet burn.
Enabler: Warm.... I have that Perfectly Posh Muscle on hold I mix in but Epsom salt will work too. I know this working 12 hour days on my feet is killing me too!
B McW:Okay. Yeah, I only do 10 hours. lol! But it still hurts. Constantly walking around then adding the weight of books as I walk.
Passive-Aggressive Enabler: Welcome to the working world.j/K I soak mine in Epsom salt in a warm bath cause I have that nerver neuropathy CMT
Enabler 2: You need to wear steel toes?
B McW: Nope. Just regular sneakers are good. All mine are made for walking, I bought just for that reason, but 2 pairs I have tried walking in all day, not just for work, have my feet aching like they are about to fall off.
B McW: It's been 10 years back in Feb that I have been on my feet for more than just walking around for short bursts.
Enabler 2: Try the dr scholls personalized insoles they have a machine at walmart ive been doing 12 hr shifts in steel toes for ten years and swear by those.
B McW: Yeah, I have been told that by my husband. Just don't have enough money for them right at this moment.
Original Enabler: I have a pair.... Feet still being broke in lol!!!
She is still going by her middle instead of married, but has been mentioning 'husband' more and has stopped all the "I'm in a bad relationship" memes.

Yesterday at 12:52am Well, I guess it should be sleepy time. Tomorrow, aka Tuesday, it's back to the grind. Back to having fun in the stacks filled with books. Night, y'all!
20 hrs Well, my toes now have the black and blue marks showing, but no longer feel swelled up. Hoping they don't swell again this week. Don't think they will since my shoes feel comfy. Oh, and I switched shoes on Thursday and my feet had calmed down on hurting just by switching my shoes.
7 hrs I don't think I'll be complaining about my feet this week. Lol! The new insoles seem to be helping. Plus, I have extra socks this week to change those when my feet get overly sweaty from shoes all day. So wish I could wear flip flops. Hehe. Have a good one, y'all!
I have mentally prepared myself for an entire week of updates on how the insoles are helping.

Working IN a publishing factory has nothing to do with being an author and if she is truly working in the publishing factory that is VERY hard work, very wearing on your body. Years ago I knew 2 women that worked in one here and it was killer work. They were exhausted, it was very hard on them physically. But the work they were doing had nothing at all related with being an author.

Oh balls, I've been had.
23 hrs 5 am alarm this morning sucked. Thankfully I have Thrive. And my semi-sweet tea! Almost to start in the stacks. Now if I could see all the paper cuts on my arm to trim off loose skin. It might not hurt so bad. Lol!
11 hrs Feet are soaking. And then need to figure out what to do with the blister that formed in my toe today. Ugh! I love my job but all the problems with my feet, blah!!!!
