I knew I wasn't a sucky manual transmission driver. I KNEW IT!
We submitted an "if you already experience this issue and paid for the repair" claim right away. Fingers crossed that we get our money back quickly/easily.
Didn't you guys trade in the car? Or just repair it?
We got it fixed and THEN traded it in. It was undrivable without the repair. It literally would not change gears.
We should still be able to be reimbursed for the repair. The only thing that I'm nervous about is that the diagnostics on the receipt doesn't say exactly the same problem as what the recall notice says. But the result indicated on the recall notice is EXACTLY what happened to me and that is stated on the receipt.
If they decline our submission, I have every intent to fight it. It's obvious that there was something wrong with the clutch. Even if I was a sucky driver, it still shouldn't have gone out in less than 30k miles. And THEY know there is something wrong with the clutch which is why they are doing the recall.
I just really hope there is no fight and in 60 days or less we just get a whopper check for reimbursement.

Keeping my fingers crossed they do the right thing!!!
I had the same type of issue with my Mazda CX-9. Repaired it, traded it, then got the recall notice. Annoyed that I don't have a copy of the rental car receipt to get reimbursed for that too, because minivans are freaking expensive and it took a week to get the part in (and aftermarket at that!) The rental was more than the repair, dadblameit.
Fingers crossed both you and I get our dollars back.
