It is not your fault, raangoli! You are doing your very best for that little baby--do not beat yourself up! But fingers crossed she will not need the helmet.
Can we talk about attractive people on MMMs Facebook feeds? Because rugbywife has a brother? BIL? Or some other flavor of uncle to her kids who is not ugly, lol.
My brother. He is 34, about 6'1. Single. Is a trained dog trainer and finished schooling (not apprenticeship, though) to be an electrician. Works in home renovation. Loves dogs, has two German Shepherds.
kategm , I was wondering what happened. Poor girl. But I am glad she seems to be ok!
We were at a restaurant (in a town 30 min away, naturally) and there was a tree in the courtyard that had 2 large flood lights at the base. They weren't on my radar at all because it was 1 pm and sunny outside. I walked over to a bench to park the stroller and heard her scream. The skin on her hand had blistered instantly. We googled the nearest urgent care and they cooled her skin down, wrapped it, and sent us back home to the local ER. Luckily it's only a superficial burn (didn't get past the 1st skin layer) but it'll be bandaged for a long time to keep it clean.
Did you get silvadene? That's what I used when I burned my hand really bad a few months ago. I kept it on constantly (except when showering), and kept it wrapped. It healed really well, but I had to keep it covered for a month solid.

Lol.
He is totally adorable. Says the frumpy middle aged cubicle dweller

My husband did all the laundry for me yesterday, so today I'm not sure what to do with myself. I'll probably pick up some decorations for Chase's birthday tomorrow. Even though the party is not until Sunday, I like to put up some decorations on their actual birthday so when they come downstairs in the morning it's fun.
Ds2 woke at 11:15 but I vowed not to feed him until midnight so we let him cry. He cried/fussed for 15 min and then slept until 4am! So he went from 7-4 without eating. Then he was up for an hour booooo. My alarm went off at 5:45. Meh. I'm pretty jazzed about his 9 hour no nursing stretch though.

Maybe? I don't know. They gave us an ointment and a medicated yellow gauze. I don't know what is on the yellow gauze. They did mention silvadene, but I thought they said it wasn't needed. But possibly.
I wasn't expecting wrapped a month. I was thinking a couple of weeks. She won't be happy. She's already frustrated she can't do things she used to do. Maybe once the pain goes away she'll learn to use the tips of her fingers to manipulate stuff. It's was so hard watching her struggle with basic things this morning.
I'm debating whether to donate our old comforter. The colors bled together when my H washed it on warm a few months ago. It's really only noticeable on the reverse side...
I really miss my girls. I will have to restrain myself tonight from crawling in with DD1. I want to do something special with her soon. Maybe I'll take her to COSI (science museum in Columbus).
We haven't been yet but I've heard the younger kids area is awesome! Let me know if you guys decide to come up.

It was not fun My fingers were burned too (I grabbed a hot pan handle), so I had to keep them covered - but they healed faster than my palm so I got to use them faster. Target sells colored gauze if she might like a purple or pink wrap
I will say that the ER doc was kind of useless. My doctor was shocked that they didn't give me any abx - her opinion was that they should be given proactively with a severe burn. Might be worth a call to your regular pedi to find out if there's anything else you need to do.

While in the hospital / on bed rest, someone here suggested the Crazy Kitchen game as a time killer. Well it worked, and I'm hooked. I never played Candy Crush either so I downloaded that at the same time. But I don't like it as much. I don't get all the hype since it's just Bejeweled with extra crap.

raangoli - the eval will give you peace of mind but it might be okay! DS still has a bit of a flat spot that the doctor didn't think needed correcting. But you could never tell through his hair now. We did spend a lot of time getting up at night to turn his head to his not-preferred side. But kid was stubborn! Sometimes there's not much you can do.

I am hoping it may be OK - the pedi didn't think it was too bad, but wants us to go to get it checked in case. I do try to turn her head, but man, she flips it back in like 5 minutes. We do plenty of tummy time and have her sitting propped during the day, so hopefully that helps.
Baby day!! Hooked up to the Pit and hoping it happens quickly
I was just thinking about you! Good luck to you and magpie today!
I am so cranky this pregnancy...I should not be able to be around people. The pharmacy tech who was supposed to let me know if my Zofran prescription was ready didn't, so I spent the weekend throwing up constantly and feeling like garbage . I want a redo!
@vicmo I typically get out of my sweaty workout pants, shower and put on a fresh pair of workout pants. Basically that is what my whole non work wardrobe is- workout clothes. You are just being fashionable in my book
holly116 I totally get what you are saying about want to either go all in or not at all. Your outfit sounds perfect and I am sure you will impress the VP as much as you have everyone else.
M was up all night last night with a horrible stomach ache. I think I got 2 hours of sleep. Was planning to just work at home until I looked at my calendar and realized I needed to be at the office for a couple meetings I can't miss. Pretty impressed with myself- showered, dressed and out the door in 20 minutes. Also it is days like this I am soooooooo thankful for our nanny.
But I am draggggggginng. No sleep, didn't workout yesterday and now today and my hip is still killing me, add in a sinus headache and I swear I don't know how I am going to make it through the day.
I spent a decent chunk of time this weekend planning out what races I want to do in the next few months, starting with a 7k next month (14k stretch goal if I really get it together) then a few 10ks and a half next spring.
I found training plans that work perfectly with my timeline, I wrote it all down in my planner, what I need to do each day. I was super excited to jump in, I talked about it to DH till he was completely sick of hearing about it. I'm supposed to run today annnnd I totally didn't do it first thing this morning like I was supposed to lol. Day one!
Maybe I'll go to the gym since it's rainy. I can run, shower, and then maybe take the kids to the aquarium.
Also, my new sunglasses have fallen apart twice since I bought them before vacation. Like, the screws and the lens are falling out. I had them fixed at an eyeglass shop but it happened again so I think they're just faulty. I should be able to take them back to Nordstrom Rack, right?

Thank you for the tips. I'll call her doctor right now.
I might have to get the colored wraps. She'd like that a lot.

I got my ass out of bed this morning and went swimming!
And there was only one lane rope in our 3 lane pool It was like this the last time I went swimming (like 3 weeks ago), so I'm annoyed they haven't fixed it yet.

I'm frustrated. DD was dx with strep yesterday afternoon and DS came down with the same symptoms within hours. I called the pedi office this morning to come in but the nurse said to just wait and treat the fever since strep is rare in kids under 2. I feel like we're just delaying the inevitable - DS is uncomfortable and it will just mean more time off work waiting to see what happens. I'm considering taking him to urgent care to get the test and be done with it.
After being a complete jerk all day long, DS2 slept through the night. He's almost 2.5. I'm not sure my nerves can handle him flying off the handle in exchange for getting some sleep. But I also fear that he's saving up for a bad night tonight since I know he's getting his molars.
raangoli don't be too hard on yourself! It happens all the time and you're an amazing mom. Also I feel you on the FB stuff!
Good luck holly116! Your outfit sounds perfect! I'm also interested to hear how your transition goes.
@natariru that's great! What games did you download?
Endless Alphabet, Monkey Preschool Animals (obsessed), PINKFONG Mother Goose, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Play & Explore and then usual PBS kids & Disney Jr. I'm surprised they have a Nick app but no Nick Jr. Or maybe I just didn't find it?
Awesome, I'm going to look for some of those! I think there is a nick jr app, is it maybe under sprouts?
I took today off and sent the boys to daycare so I could et some sleep. Slept til 10 and it was great. I had big plans for all the stuff I was going to get done today but not going to happen as I forgot I had a dentist appt which sucks. Also I totally forgot I still needed to pump until about 15 minutes ago. Oops
