Not yet, though we did go whitewater rafting for my H's birthday, which was a ton of fun.

OBX Labor Day weekend, I am so ready for it!!
How's the summer going for you?
Busy, but no real complaints. 
How's life?
 Though my dad had a minor(?) heartattack about a month ago. He is doing great, and getting stronger everyday, and it has brought some good life changes for both of my parents, so there is silver lining to it.
What are you drinking?
We found a sangria at a local winery, which is AMAZING!!

I've started working at the company my H works for, which is going surprisingly well, though the search has been discouraging. I was unemployed for 3 months, before my H's place took me on.

- so far so good! We have had some crazy weather though in the last week. Tornado watches and severe thunderstorms.

- pretty good! Still trying to get settled into the new house, but we are mostly there.

Day drinking is not always frowned upon

It's going well! There is this weird smell in one bathroom that they can't seem to figure out. It's making me so mad, but today the builder and contractor are coming over to see if they can figure it out. Once that is done, everything should be good!

Anyone have any good travel plans they've already had?

Went to France & Croatia last month, which was our big vacation for the year.  It was fantastic and we are already talking about where we want to go next time we can get back to Europe.   

How about ones coming up?

No other major travel planned, just a few weekends away.  Going to Austin area to stay in a lake house next month for a weekend, and then probably a couple of football games in the fall.

How's life?

Good in the personal arena.  Some friends of ours are going through some tough times with the oil & gas industry still being in the pits (unemployment, etc) and one of my longtime football-friends passed away last weekend.      But my sister got a new puppy that's pretty darn cute, and our dogs are still doing great - even our 16 year old!

Right now it's a Crystal Light raspberry lemonade.

In a good place at the moment, but there's always something that's bound to screw up the good mojo eventually...  
I guess I could complain that the H didn't really get me an anniversary gift other than some roses & a card, so I just went ahead and bought myself 2 pair of new shoes & some jewelry and just considered it a gift.    He's not really the best gifter to begin with, but instead of moping & making an issue out of it, I just picked out and bought what I wanted.  It would have been nice to have been surprised with something a little more, though.

We went to NH & VT for 5 days and it was beautiful. I would move there in a second!

How about ones coming up?
Mostly just local festivals and parties on weekends. And then Cancun in August. I may die from heat/sun, but at least I'll go out drunk on tequila!

Overall, very well. It's been a good mix of getting shit done and having fun.

How's life?
Good I've had one in-person interview, another phone interview (still waiting to hear back), and applied for another job that I would really like, so I'm feeling optimistic.

What are you drinking?
Right now, coffee. Last night my friend introduced me to Palm Breeze sparkling mandarin & grapefruit and I'm going to need to pick some up for pool days!

The hardwood flooring and the cabinets were delivered today. By Tuesday they should both be installed! I can't wait to have a functioning kitchen again.

Yeah, I'm done with grad school in August. I'm not in a rush so I can shop around a bit, which is nice.

It's good! My mom had surgery 2 weeks ago and is being stubborn as a mule about following doctors orders so she can have a smooth recovery. So many evenings are spent at her house making sure she doesn't overdo it.

H isn't deploying.

We took a last minute trip for a quick getaway last week. It was the only time that made sense for both of us for at least the next month or two and we wanted to be able to enjoy laying by the pool.

Anyone have any good travel plans they've already had? We went to Punta Cana at the end of May; tried an all-inclusive, had a blast. Spent 4th of July weekend in Syracuse with S's aunt/uncle/cousin for golfing and boating.

How about ones coming up? South Bend and Chicago later this week, a cruise (New England and Canada) in 3 weeks.

How's life? Work is busy and somewhat defeating. I've had some bad luck with people we've hired recently. Neither made it through the 1st week for one reason or another. I feel like I'm never going to get caught up, and I'm worried the rest of my team is going to get tired of the BS and leave.

What are you drinking? Water, water and more water. I'm trying t lay off the booze (gah!) until our cruise in 3 weeks in an attempt to lose a few lbs.
