Woah! I think you handled it marvelously, mp!! What a cool, happenstance situation; agree in appreciation it was you & not your mom for the 1st chance encounter- sheesh.

That's wild. I can't think of a thing you might have done to handle it better, honestly. You opened the door, but didn't barge through. And you left any further contact up to her. She sounds like a lovely, receptive and open-hearted young woman.

That is so cool. Isn't it mind blowing how the world can be so large and vast, and yet so small at the same time? This must have stirred up a lot of feelings and emotions for you as well.
That's very cool. I have a niece out there somewhere but my brother and her mother have since broken up and as far as I know my brother has not maintained contact with the adoptive family.
Wow! So cool. I wouldn't have handled it the same way. I'm not sure what I would have done, but I'm certain my response wouldn't have been as perfect as yours.

That's so crazy and awesome. I think you handled it perfectly, I wouldn't have known what the hell to do and probably would have just stared uncomfortably at her the whole time
Its kind of a trip that you're like "if you would have handled it differently...shine! " Because... Hello you handled it perfectly
I don't know- I felt like people would be like "you shouldn't have caught her off guard like that how dare you!" And suggest I shouldn't have said anything!
Since she knew she was adopted there was no harm in letting her know she was always loved. Does she know she has siblings? Sounds to me you handled it with grace and saved your Mom a big shock, too.
This is so cool. I'm glad you said something to her. She seems like she was cool with it.
I also think that you did it perfectly fine. I would have done it differently if you didn't know she knew she was adopted. But because you knew that I think you did an awesome job.
