DS1 was born with blue/gray eyes that moved to only gray and have now settled with a gray/brown hazel. DH has gray eyes and mine are green/brown hazel.
Both boys had dark blue eyes at birth and now have light blue eyes. I have dark brown and h has hazel so I am so happy they beat the odds and both got my recessive blue gene!
Yes! Â It's not as simple as the basic Punnett Square from Bio 1. Students would freak out when I told them this fact.Â
J is a 4th generation blue eye kiddo. Those genes run strong on my dads side. My grandfather, dad, and myself all have blue eyes despite having partners with brown eyes.
As a brown-eyed brunette, I thought I'd win the gene war. But H won hair and eyes. So my kid looks exactly like me except with blond hair (so far) and blue eyes.
DS was born with bluish gray eyes. Now (7 months) they appear to be taupe. They are dark gray with brownish flecks around the iris. They appear brown or gray in different light.
All three of mine were born with blue eyes and have stayed blue. But my H and his siblings all have blue eyes, and I have green, so blue eyes were a fairly likely outcome for us (though I thought we would get at least one green eyed kiddo and was kind of pulling for it ).
My nephew (whose parents both have brown eyes) was born with blue eyes, but they were brown by the time he was 3 months old or so.
J had beautiful blue eyes at birth. They started to change around 8 months and are a dark brown now. I told MH that we're going to have babies until one keeps their blue eyes! I have blue and he has brown, so odds are not in my favor.
DD was born with blue eyes, and they are now green. They didn't turn green though until she was 2. I don't know if it matters, but I have Green eyes as well.
Both of my boys started with blue and now they are both hazel. DS1's are more gold and Ds2's are more green. I'm biased but I think they're gorgeous. I have extremely light eyes and DH has very dark brown.
