I'm worried about T not chattering as much as he used it. He used to chit chat all the time, then it was blowing raspberries. Now he is pretty quite while he plays. He is really focused on trying to crawl, though, so maybe he just us working on motor vs verbal skills? He's 7m.
Grunting in their sleep? Is it normal for a newborn to grunt all night? For the past two nights, DS has been really grunty. It's not his breathing, he's vocalizing grunts and he does kind of squirm a little while he does them. It went on like all night long, off and on. He sleeps/doesn't wake up or cry when he's doing this, but he's so loud. Gas? Reflux? Normal baby behavior? DD was super colicky and spent all night crying, so I have no idea what non-colic babies do.
I hope it's normal, dd is still very grunty at 6 weeks.
For daycare clothes - do you only label the "extra outfits" that stay at daycare, or do you also label any clothes that you send your kid wearing that day?
thank you, and fashionx, for this! I just started getting E to do this independently, but mostly he just sucks and I do a little squeeze. I'm also worried about him squeezing out everything.

only the extras that live there. I don't want to sharpie label everything (because we have a lot of loaners that I have to give back, or because I may want to resell), and he has too many clothes for me to sticker label. if E dirties up the outfit I send him in, they immediately bag it up in a plastic grocery bag and put it in his cubby. I haven't lost any clothing items yet.
I do label his shoes and his jacket (in the winter) to make sure those make it back home.
1. C is a thumb sucker. It's not too often, mostly just when she's about to fall asleep. I like it because she self soothes at night with it, but I'm worried about breaking the habit down the road. And having her teeth come in crooked because of it. Am I stressing too much or should I try to redirect her now?
2. When your kids first started solids, did you make your own food or buy prepackaged? I was looking at the Baby Bullet system, but I'm honestly not sure how much I would be able to do. I don't even make food for me and H most days, lol
For both we started with prepackaged food and then I made it once I knew they weren't allergic to whatever random thing. I just use my blender (Ninja) to make it. I wouldn't buy a Bullet unless you a) have a crappy blender or b) just really wanted it already. With DD I used the Infantino Squeeze Station to make pouches, and I still have some of the extra pouches we never used so I'll make those for DS and then we'll go into using reusable kind because of the waste and because Amazon raised the prize for the pouches.

Same. Actually, I don't even label the clothes. I put them in a ziploc bag that has her name on it. When she dirties an outfit, they put it in plastic bag and back in her cubby.

DD grunted a lot in her sleep as a newborn. She was so noisy we had to move her to her own room.
I don't remember DD being super loud, but I couldn't get any sleep with DS near me because he was so freaking loud. I really wanted him in our room for the first 3 months while I was on maternity leave, but we moved him around a month because I couldn't get any sleep with how loud he was.

I don't label any clothing. We haven't lost anything yet, knock on wood.

DS hasn't hit this stage yet, but I know DD did when she was little. I can't remember what age but I did get concerned that she suddenly was so quiet, and I think it was soon after the raspberries stage. Now all she does is talk/yell/sing so it all evened out.

At our center, every kid has their own cubby (it's a basket at earlier ages, but same concept). The clothes are kept out of reach, and now they're stored in a tupperware bin with the kid's name on it. So we only label jackets, backpacks, and shoes/boots.

I only label extra outfits (if I remember--they go in a labeled ziplock in her cubby, so I'm not too worried about it) and jackets, since those tend to get mixed up/moved around a lot by the kids.
Can anyone recommend good books or TV shows about being an older brother/having a new baby in the house?
The Daniel Tiger episodes were all we watched. I kept meaning to get books and after a couple lame ones, gave up. Hoping there are some other suggestions!

PS. I came across this recently. Maybe it will help.

I really like the Joanna Cole "I'm a big sister" book. There's a big brother one too that I haven't read but I think it's basically the same.
We liked this one too. That, plus the Daniel Tiger episodes were helpful. We also talked about baby brother a lot before his arrival. It's still very new, but going well so far.

DS goes through phases of talking and silence. Once I notice and start worrying that he has stopped babbling, he starts up again.
I think it's normal.
Maybe try to encourage babbling by talking to him and playing. Idk.
