Could Rupp say "you know" any more in this interview.
Granted I can't be too critical of him. I can't imagine having to string together coherent words after a marathon.
He just seems so smug. All the other guys are congratulating each other and he's just like, "Whatever"
Yeahhhh he comes across as a total douche. And from what I've seen of him at meets in high school and the few times I've seen him around town, he really is

Stupid pointless question about shoes:
It looks like they are all wearing the same shoes. For 155 runners from around the world, it seems unlikely they would all wear the same neon yellow or pink shoe for running.
Do they get sponsored shoes sent to them to break In to wear or do they all really justvwearvthe same shoe? Deep thoughts....

I almost laughed when the announcer said "and Meb just finished, I'm sure you'll want to congratulate him" and Rupp's look was just like "I guess if I have to"

Nike is the sponsor for the track and field events. A lot of runners are also sponsored by Nike and wear their gear. There are several models of shoes, but they're all that same yellow color. It's a marketing tactic for Nike. Runners don't have to wear those shoes, but they do have to cover up the logo on the other brand they might choose to wear.

Thank you! I noticed that the volleyball (I think) uniforms were Mizuno, but it didn't occur to me that there would be a specific "sponsor" for a sport.
The marketing totally worked though because I was ready to go to the running store and ask for the marathon shoe

My kids were really loud this morning. Any idea what happened to make Meb stop so much?
My kids were loud too, but I think he said in the post race interview that he stopped 7 times, and threw up at least once. So I guess stomach issues? Just not his day.

I wondered if that was it. I saw another runner sitting down and puking.

No...American athletes must wear the Nike jersey but they can wear whatever brand shoe they want and no, they do not have to cover the logo. See rule40
