I started Cavendon Hall and am 1/3 through. I am annoyed by the book. I consider Barbara Taylor Bradford's A Woman of Substance to be one of my top 3 favorite books (series) ever. And yet, I am annoyed by the writing in this book - dull, repetitive, just blah. I will finish, but am still disappointed.
QOTQ: Alas Babylon was probably my favorite assigned read in HS.

I've had a blah week for reading, so I'm re-reading some romances that I like. I think I'm just waiting for Louise Penny's latest to get into my hot little hands, then I'll be a happy girl.
QOTW: I think O, Pioneers by Willa Cather. I've read a few of hers - I didn't like My Antonia and really enjoyed Death Comes for the Archbishop (read it twice for different university classes), but O, Pioneers really meant something to me.
I'm reading Morning Star (third in Red Rising trilogy). I like it but for some reason it is taking me forever to get through.
I am listening to The Last American Vampire which is the sequel to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I had zero interest until I found out it was a sequel to a book I had already read and liked. It's keeping me entertained and is more of a light read.
I really can't remember what books we read in school aside from Shakespeare and 1984 or A Brave New World.
