My hair has been annoying me lately too. None of my products have been working.
I went to a curly hair festival today and I'm trying out the things from my goodie bag.
This is where I confess that I righteously boycotted Shea Moisture and after several weeks of my hair looking like straight poop I caved and went back. There simply aren't enough companies making products for my hair needs. If it is creamy it leaves a dull film on my hair no matter the brand. And so many products are creams!
Which shea product do you use? BoyLiu has a similar issue with creamy products.

DD has this problem too. Her hair is so dry but everything I put in it turns her head gray and there's linty buildup within a day. I have had the most success with lanolin but I feel bad using it. I'm not sure if it's good for her hair. It was my concession to my mother after months of her demanding I use blue magic.

Did you go to CurlFest in Brooklyn? If so I was there too. I didn't but any hair products but I did get some other things and I saw Spike Lee.
andwhat I know a natural hair salon that values your time. I got Marley Twists in May and I was out in approx 2.5 hrs. They are fast and they respect your edges. That is a win for me

It was my first time going so I didn't know what to expect but it was a great time seeing so many POC, the hair, the clothes etc. It was amazing in that way. the lines for food and drinks were way too long! It was a great part of my quick little NYC trip.

Salon info, please! I go to Mo Knows Hair, but she books up so far in advance.

Wait? Is Mo Knows Hair local?
She's in NYC. I saw curl fest in Brooklyn and thought pp was in NYC. 😕 She is amazing if you're ever in the area. I've never fully trusted a stylist before her.

I love, love, love Camille Rose's gel. I'd used it before and wasn't that impressed. I took it out again, and really saturated my hair with it and raked it through really well. Curls were popping.
orangeblossom and @246baje ya'll look great. Im a product junkie so I'll be adding new items to my list.
Thank you.
I was twisting my hair the other day and wasn't too crazy about how it turned out, and briefly thought about cutting it. So much hair. It's so thick. I'm getting it done Monday, thank goodness and will probably do kinky twist for the winter.
My sister is supposed to install my sisterlocks in the new year, but we shall see.

I just got my puff cuff in the mail. I have to say I like it. I ordered the junior size. My hair is probably about 10 inches at it's longest before shrinkage, but it is super coily. I like that it does that job, but doesn't feel tight at all. I do need to use a few pins/flat barrettes in the back, where my hair isn't long enough to go up into the ponytail.
I ordered it from Amazon, but here's the homepage for the product. thepuffcuff.com/

Really, @246baje? What isn't it doing for you?
I bought the junior size, and that's good for a puff, but I may by the regular size, to pull my hair from the bottom to the top, without creating a ponytail per say, but more how it would look if I used a headband.
Regardless, of the size I choose, I'm going to have to do better at smoothing it out, because a dry looking puff is not the business.

It’s too thick for the smaller sized cuff and my hair I think is too short for the regular cuff. It just didn’t look good.
Ah, got it. That's too bad it didn't work for you. I really like hat it pulls it, but it's not right like a ponytail holder.
I'm getting my hair done tomorrow, thank goodness. I'm kind of tired of having it loose right now.

My daughter had two people ask to touch her hair and she refused both. I have never said anything to her about it either. She was her own little advocate. I loved it!

See, her spunkiness pays off! 😉
Girl, you are so right! I wasn’t sure where it was going to go but she told him, “boys aren’t supposed to touch girls hair, silly!” (He was a man btw) and to the other lady,”nope, I only let my Momma touch my hair.” I mean I shouldn’t be the only one who gets all of her energy! 🤣
