I go to Istanbul pretty often ::flips hair:: and it's fucking awesome. OP if you go to Europe rent an apartment. It's way cheaper and I promise your experience will be so much better. Nothing makes me happier then spending my evenings abroad on my own balcony , drinking wine I bought at the grocery store, watching the world go by.
I have a love affair with Prague. We're planning another vacation there in February. I studied abroad there for a summer and we also went for our honeymoon. It's the land where the beer is cheaper than the soda and sometimes even water.
I read an article about a year and a half ago in Dnes that I meant to send to you. It was about the Czech government working to de-stigmatize tap water consumption in restaurants. When I was there in December I was far to into the consumption of svařjak to notice if tap water was finally an option, so I now put the investigation of this matter off to you in Feb.
We have't gone anywhere exotic or expensive yet, but we always enjoy our vacations in Maine. Simple pleasures.
I don't think I'd mind retiring to Maine. Or, hell, if my husband somehow got a job there, we'd move. I love NE. He's from MA, but I'd live pretty much anywhere, except for CT/NYC metro.
I really want to go up to Portland because one of my favorite breweries is there!
