CONGRATS on finishing, those conditions sounded horrible. I ran seven miles around 8:30 on Saturday and the temps were already brutal, I can't imagine completing 13.1 later in the day.

al320, Oh my god contratulations!!! I'm SO impressed. If you can finish a half ironman in last weekend's heat AND humidity, and with such a great attitude, then you can do ANYTHING!!!

Thank you again for recommending this race. If i do another one, i might do this one again...unless theres a flat october race somewhere nearby

Yes please do!! Im a little afraid of ocean swim.
Also, mdot=crazy expensive
Its actually in the back bay so I'll let you know how it is. And true - get your wallet ready if you want to do an ironman branded race! If you sign up through local tri club you can get a decent discount though.

Side note, but an important one given it relates to food:
I don't know if this is true of all their races, but I thought the post race food was horrible. For the registration fee I paid, I expected some decent food at the end. They had nasty looking pizza, bananas and some sad looking watermelon, plus off brand 'cola' drinks lol. Some of the smaller races I've done have really great food at the end- but this was really skimpy. I was annoyed by that (hangry athletes).

I cannot even imagine running 13.1 (stand-alone!) in those temps. You are so tough! Congratulations on a great and hard-fought race! 70.3 under any circumstances is amazing.
