Interestingly enough most of the shouting by the police to put the gun down was while he was still sitting in the car. So then he slowly gets out. He backs away slowly. His hands are by his side and they fire. I see nothing indicating he raised his hands. I also don't see anything in his hands but it is a really crappy video. I don't think this justifies anything. And even if he had a gun, I don't see anything that he moved in an intimidating manner.
I don't know what the latest press is about marijuana. Whatever it is it must be ridiculous. How are we going to simultaneously be legalizing marijuana across the country yet also gun people down for it?

When he's getting out of the car, he swings his right arm. I don't see anything in his hand.
Are the cops claiming he pointed the gun at them while he was in the car? From what I've read they definitely don't seem forthcoming about their version of events.
It also does not look like the guy in the red shirt is shooting?
I noticed that too. His arms were bent and gun lowered when the gunshots sounded. So it looks like that eyewitness was mistaken, which isn't necessarily unusual. I'm sure it looked like he was the shooter from her vantage point.
I also don't see anything in the videos I watched that justifies his murder.

I can't see the gun at all. That isn't clear at all to me.

I was talking about the officer in the red shirt, not the victim. An eyewitness claimed he was the one that shot Scott but the dashcam footage appears to contradict that statement. That particular officer does not have his gun fully raised when the multiple gunshots sound. I agree that none of the videos show the victim holding a gun.

So the cops supposedly see him in the car with marijuana and a gun. They leave to put on marked vests. When they come back, was their first step to hide behind that truck and yell "drop the gun"? That seems...odd to me. He has not posed a threat. Why not approach him at his vehicle? They were operating from the get go as if he was an imminent threat.
Also the video shows a white officer shooting him, right? Not the black officer they claimed.
It makes me sick that we're having this discussion (again) and dissecting yet another video of a black man getting shot by police who appears to be doing nothing other than being a black man; dissecting it carefully, frame by freaking frame of a man getting shot and killed, trying and failing to see how this could yet again have happened.

Footage from one of the body cams was released. It sounds like after the shooting one of the officers leaning over Keith Scott asked "are you on?" I wonder if that is in reference to the body cam and whether they can talk freely. Anyway this is pretty horrible because you can hear Keith Scott moaning in pain.
