I've got plenty of DT supporters on FB who think he did great. This debate really just solidified what anyone liked about the candidate they were already supporting. There aren't any moderates supporting Trump, it's a lost cause to worry about sweeping those votes/changing minds.
Yes and no. The fact that there has been movement in the polls shows that, inexplicably, something one candidate or the other is doing is actually changing people's minds. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS, but it appears to be true. And Hillary's lead was much stronger months ago. I'm holding out hope that some of those people come back to her. Pleasejesus.
I've been out canvassing for HRC the past two weekends, and there are indeed some people who still claim to be "undecided" and "doing research." A lot of people just don't pay attention to politics or current events on a regular basis -- or at all, until right before the election. They might have heard or seen a few headlines, enough to have an impression of one or both of the candidates and be able to name one or two things they like or don't (which may or may not be true, they're not going to go research to see if their impression is based in fact). Or they supported someone else in the primaries and are having a hard time "aligning their beliefs" with Hillary or Trump.
I think some of the tightening is people switching from "undecided" to picking a candidate, and the fact that some polls are changing from polls of registered voters to likely voters (a smaller pool).

I think some undecided people were swayed by the debate. Maybe not all from DT to HRC, but from not voting at all to voting HRC. I have a couple Bernie Bros in my FB feed (actual Bernie Bros-not using the term to generalize all Bernie supporters) who were very anti-HRC for months after she got the nom unofficially and even officially. One was going to vote for Jill Stein and one was not going to vote at all. They both posted pro-HRC statuses last night and that they are voting for her. So that is a positive out of the debate. There are probably others like them as well.
Trump is a man without honor. He does not pay his taxes, he does not honor business agreements and pay for services rendered, he is a scammer and a con man. People with minimal intelligence would be able to learn this by doing a little bit of research into his claims. But they won't. Because they want to hang onto the email scandal, which even the FBI has completely cleared her of.
Also, he is a germaphobe, which is one reason he was not shaking hands with people, thanking them for their support last night. And those ads that he says were attacking his family?? She took his own words, video of him saying those things, and has played them for the masses. Not really an attack on his family as much as holding up the truth mirror for all his rabid, idiotic supporters.
I just cannot understand it. I'm reading Facebook today and I'm scratching my head thinking "did you idiots watch the same debate I did?" Like people actually saying Lester let Hillary talk as long as she wanted but both Lester and Hillary cut trump off before his two minutes were up every time? Did I miss that? Is that something that actually happened?
And then he actually said his mic was faulty on purpose? I mean, come on.

I was too optimistic last night. I am well and truly boggled by how many people are saying on FB this morning that they both bombed and we're screwed no matter who wins. I know I didn't watch, but I did read the transcript and I've seen videos, and uh, were we all watching the same debate? Because it's pretty clear she obliterated him.

I legit had someone on FB try to claim that they were taken out of context

My stepdad is a Trump supporter. He and my mom watched the debate in separate rooms last night and when he came out to try and rant about Hillary, my mom cut him off. She told him, "You and I will never see eye-to-eye on this, so I don't want to hear it." He said, "I don't like you anymore!" My mom said, "Well, I haven't liked you for a long time."
LOL. They're going to Aruba in a few weeks. Should be fun!
I couldn't watch the debate last night (for various reasons), but did a lot of reading this morning.
Hillary looked so poised, calm and collected throughout the entire thing. DT looked like a floppy dick searching out anything that would make him hard. Hillary killed it from what I've read, which makes my heart happy. I truly hope the people that are voting for Trump because "he ain't Hillary" got a glimpse of what that jackwagon is truly like.
DS and I were in the car last night and a commercial about the debate came on. He asked me what a debate was, so I explained it to him. He said, "but why would anyone think Hillary couldn't run our country? She's smart and doesn't hate people." (heart)

One commentary I read, which makes me fear for this election and just truly sad for our country, was that she was "too presidential". She spoke to the intellectuals and relied on facts but the people who still need to decide need to explicitly hear her make a case for why he isn't ready to be commander in chief. While I hate the substance, I fear it is all true...she obliterated him by all standards and the news media (even Fox News!) says she won, but they are using different standards than the American public.

I think Trump's supporters like him because he "says what's on his mind" and "doesn't play by the rules!" They think he's going to get in office and "shake things up!" Because yes, THAT'S how our government works.

He is playing to all the stupid people in this country and people who I thought had intelligence somehow support him too. I am truly stunned.
I want the media to start holding him accountable and bring all his bullshit to light.
