Day off for me today. I decided to keep the kids home because we had a long weekend. We surprised the kids with a trip to Sesame Place yesterday. We had so much fun (despite pouring rain for the first 2 hours) but it is 2.5 hours away. We were all exhausted today and needed a day off. My dad is off too, so we had some fun with him this morning.
When do you get concerned about a two year old not eating much??
It's not a pickiness issue. He just has a way decreased appetite lately. He used to be such a good eater and now he takes 1-4 bites and says he is done. Even of special/treat things like a donut or ice cream. He was sick over the weekend but this has been going on for at least two weeks... I don't think he is losing weight but I'm not sure. I don't know what to do or if I should worry..
He does drink two sippy cups of whole milk, one before nap and one before bed. Should I switch to 2%? Delaney didn't drink regular milk at this age so I'm unfamiliar with this.
ladybug Calvin is like that now, has been for quite some time now. His dinner last night was 3 strawberries and a grape. Our pedi said as long as he's eating at all, still acting normally and drinking fluids, it's okay. And I think it's fine to stick with whole if you want but we switched to 2% at 2 with Lincoln because that's what I drank and I was tired of buying 3 types of milk (Jake drinks skim).
We actually have a 5 day weekend - in addition to today the schools have Yom Kippur on Wednesday off and figured Tuesday would be such a low attendance day in between those two holidays that they would just have it off as well.
We had grand plans for today until Henry woke up with a sore throat and vomiting. He's been a mess today. DH just took him to urgent care and he has strep again (had it at the beginning of September too). We have my sister's wedding this weekend and my kids NEED to be well!!

I'm liking this because strep is, in my opinion, the best case scenario. It's quick and easy to diagnose, quick and easy to treat. Hopefully he'll be back on his feet by Wednesday and you'll be all set for this weekend.
(I don't ever wish strep on anybody, but still feel the need to high five people who get the diagnosis. It's not something worse!!)
We have school today. It's actually something I like about Columbus, which you would think would be the first city to have this day off, but they're fairly progressive and don't do it anymore.
Abby stayed home today and might stay home tomorrow if she's not feeling well, so I might be taking a day tomorrow. I went to the Hillary rally, but didn't end up staying. When I got there, it was clear there wasn't going to be anywhere to sit in side the area, we had to check our bags, and my asthma's been giving me trouble. So I sat for a little while rolling my eyes at the Trumpers and then decided to leave.
I bought myself a couple of Harry Potter coloring books with the gift card DH bought me for my birthday and I've already done 2 pictures! I haven't sat and colored anything in years.
And I just found out my stepdad is voting for Trump. I told my mom, who had speakerphone on, that I lose respect for anyone who votes for Trump. I know he heard me, too.

Ari ate very little at 2. We did switch to 2% hoping that it would lead to more food but it didn't change a thing. Remember how people say it isn't a meal, or even a day, it's a weeks worth of food that shouldbe examined with possible food issues. I'd probably keep a food journal and reevaluate at the end of the week.

My husband is a good guy, y'all. After what felt like pulling teeth trying to get A to pick out a Halloween costume (he was literally telling us that it was a surprise and we would find out on Halloween 😐), he finally settled on a fighter pilot. Well his idea of what a fighter pilot should look like and the options available were two different things. So then, he decides he wants to be Catboy from PJ Masks. We look online for costumes, everything is sold out or over $60. Of course he picks the one costume we can't get! So MH offers to go over to Spirit Halloween, 30 mins before they close, just to see if they had one. He came back with the very last one they had! A is going to (hopefully) be a very happy kid tomorrow!
Well, it looks like I'm taking tomorrow off. Abby was off today because she wasn't feeling well, and I was thinking about taking tomorrow if she still wasn't well, but Caleb came down with a very sudden ear infection. The ibuprofen wore off 2 hours after he took it and I send DH to CVS to get acetaminophen at 10 pm.
I opened a bottle of Pinot Grigio Friday night and kept in the fridge. Is it still good to drink tonight? I really need like a hundred glasses of wine after my day today.

ladybug, that was G exactly from practically the day she turned 2. X has also started having days like that, especially if he thinks he can get down and play instead of eat. Though on the whole he's a much better eater than her. It definitely could be normal.
TrudyCampbell I had to make a new mock up from my phone. I think in the one I ordered I made the back large picture bigger so it didn't look like Charlie was trying to escape Hank. It was more head/shoulders.
I know the pics aren't perfect but I took them myself in our backyard so I consider it a complete victory.
