Years from now, journalism schools will study this election as a Profile in Incompetence.
Did you know that NBC News learned of the pussy tape, then sat in it four FOUR FUCKING DAYS while clearing it with legal and trying to figure out how to handle the Billy Bush mess, when they were scooped by the Post who got a tip and managed to clear it for publication in a couple hours?
This is disgusting and horrifying, but not surprising.
I'm so pissed at all the news organizations that were willing to sit on these stories for however long. They could have published them sooner. They chose not to.
I'm 99% certain that we're only hearing about all this shit NOW because everyone is completely incompetent.
The remaining 1% of me is wondering if all of these terrible things were held back on purpose, because had they been released earlier the GOP may have had time to kick Trump off the ticket and replace him with someone else like Pence.

Per CNN the women didn't want to be named and nyt didn't want to publish anonymous stories. After he denied his actions at the debate the women agreed to be named.

Trump says a lawsuit is being drafted. However actually filing a suit would open him up to discovery. I wonder if Michael "says who?" Cohen is advising him.
I'll be honest; while it's gross that these news groups may have withheld information, I think this timing is better. It doesn't give Trump a chance to recover before the election, and if that was their intent, I'm all fine with that. Spill it all at the last minute and while emotions are still hot, we'll all vote Hillary in.
I think this wasn't intentional holding back. I think he came out on Sunday at the debates claiming he never actually assaulted women and that gave his victims the push to come forward, be vetted, and have their stories written up. He really thought he was going to get away with it.

Lawyers a question. Twitter has it that he is considering/going to sue the NYT. As long as they did their due diligence it's a nuisance case right and he has no grounds that will hold up?

No grounds.
It's been a very long time since ve had to know this stuff, but as I generally understand it, defamation lawsuits are pretty hard to win. And they are much, much harder to win if you are a public figure versus a private citizen. With the latter, you just have to show negligence in running the piece (in most states), whereas if you are a public figure, you've got to prove an intent to harm a person by publishing the false defamatory statements.
Also truth is a defense so even if they wanted to kill him in the polls, they can run whatever they want if it's true.
He's not going to be able to bully the NYT into backing down. Nevermind there is no response to the beauty pageant girls, the woman in Florida, or the reporter from People Magazine. Is he going to threaten to sue everyone who reported on them too? This close to the election, all the threatening letters in the world isn't going to cover up his past.
You know why this is coming out now? Because there's a tape of Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women, and a tape of Trump (after much equivocation) saying he never actually sexually assaulted anyone. These women came forward now because they are less likely to be dismissed as liars or whores.
And yet Trump surrogates are STILL smearing these women. It's disgusting.

I have to point out the hypocrisy in this. News outlets everywhere seem to have no qualms about quoting unnamed sources from within the Trump campaign. They defend their sources anonymity.
Trump can threaten to sue all he wants. It's the freaking New York Times. I'm sure they made sure ALL their ducks were in a row before publishing that story.
