I hate that you can't sort by most recent thread here. That's one reason I've barely been around since the switch. And the only reason I want to go back to the nest.
you mean by last reply on the board? Just click on the "last post" column header. I did that (I think) and it automatically bumps posts when there's a new reply.

No, mine does the sorting by most recent reply, but I want the newest new threads to be at the top. Like, I don't like posts from 3days ago being at the top because someone replied to it recently, I want the ones people just posted as new to be at the top.
I think once the ads start appearing here, it will be interesting to see what happens.
When will this happen?
It will probably happen next week. But you can pay to keep the ads off. There's a link at the bottom of the board that gives you the option. Now that I'm thinking about it, I cant remember what the minimum donation is to keep them off.
On the last forum I was on, we took turns donating to keep them off.

That settles it for me. I am not paying to be on a message board. If the adds are annoying, I'm out. Whether it is back to the nest or just getting busy with work and life stuff.
Yeah if the ads are annoying I'll definitely go back. Then i'll be one of the "regulars" for all of the new people that join ml. Lol...
i really don't see how their ads (supposedly banner ads at top and bottom) would be more annoying than nest ads or "how to spice up your sex life!" plastered on my screen. but i guess we will have to wait and see.

If that's all they are then that won't be a big deal. But why would people pay to avoid them if they aren't annoying?

I thought when we moved over that I was going to hate it and that I'd just be hoping the Nest would fix everything so we could go back.
And then I spent a day on ProBoards and fell in love. I WILL go back if I have no other choice (if everyone else goes back), but I'd rather stay. And at this point, it has nothing to do with sticking it to the man. I just like this board better.

no, I don't want to go back and mostly out of spite. The bumpies are all on a high horse saying how "the changes weren't that bad" and "they'll all come back" and well... I really just want to prove the idiots wrong.

is everyone forgetting the stupid credit card ads that where huge and would pop up everytime you wanted to reply for like 2 weeks? If the ads are like the ones on ezboards, it's really no big deal.at.all.

I should go back as Stacy&Jason and just start casually posting and see how long it takes for the Bumpies to find me. I WOULD. But I have no one to casually post to.

I'll pay $20/month. Maybe $40. But other people will have to split the whole cost with me because I'm not paying hundreds and I bet that's how much it's going to be with all the boards. But I will pay to stick it to the Nest. I am spiteful like that.

The ads are not annoying. I am on other ProBoards that have ads. It is one banner ad at the top and bottom of the page, once you scroll down you don't see it anymore. There are no annoying ads that flash across the page and it is nothing like the ads on the nest.
Really, I don't have a strong feeling either way. I'm still getting used to the sorting on this board, which I know many prefer, but too many posts are getting lost in the shuffle for me.
Which is odd, because the board I posted on before I joined the knot/nest was like this one, and I remember thinking the knot's format was worse, wondering how I'd be able to keep up with posts that were still going on but had dropped to the bottom of the page (because, back then, there weren't any sorting options).
Eight years later, the nest is what I'm used to, so this format seems wonky now, but I'll get used to it eventually.
Besides, I don't really like the idea of crawling back to the nest anyway. Although I will feel weird if a new crop of nesties takes over ML.

We have used proboards for our local next forum ever since the nest experimented with the new format on us. We have ads on there and I don't find them annoying at all.
