I'm really far down on the lists for the ebooks but I might be able to get the paper copies quicker. Sometimes my library buys more copies when theres a super long wait list so FX!
I was already on the list for The Underground Railroad and have it here now. I guess I'll have to take notes so I remembe well enough to discuss in February!
I'm sorry so many people are having such long waits - hopefully people ahead of you read quickly or don't checkout the book so you'll move up the queue faster. I might put the poll up today for March's book just to help get people on their waitlist quicker.

Don't be sorry--you gave us the choice with warning!

I'm so behind...and my Library doesn't have all the Ugly things Although I hope they're just making updates as I can't pull the site, just Overdrive. I might ask Santa.

see my post about being number 1 billion in line?? It came in last night and I have it already! Woo hoo!
pixy0stix - I'm not sure who the moderator is for this board, does it even have one? Anyways, since you are mod of another board would you be able to make this post sticky? Thanks!

I'll have someone sticky it for you. I can't since I'm just a regular mod. Pinksquirrel and lemondrop are the moderators, are they around? If not, a new mod for the board probably should be chosen.

I have not seen either of them on here. I had no idea those were the moderators, whoops. Thanks, I really appreciate it!

I think the fates have it against me to read "All the Ugly and Wonderful Things". I couldn't find it at B&N last night, although to be fair it was busy and I didn't want to "bug" the cashier to help me locate it since it wasn't under "teen". I asked my husband to order it online for Christmas.

That stinks! I hope you get it for Christmas! I'm now 4th in line on the waitlist at my library - here's to hoping the people in front of me read quickly.
ufcasey , we probably should look for volunteers and vote to pick new new mods.
Pinksquirrel has only posted three times this year (not since May) and only five times in 2015 -- none of which seems to have been book related posts.
Lemondrop hasn't been around for three years (last post was Feb. 2013).
Ah! That explains why I was like "who?" LOL! I'd be up for that - we're not exactly a rowdy group in need of a mod but it would be nice to have someone available on the rare occasions it's needed.
Hi! Can I join? It looks like there are a number of different "Underground Railroad" books at my library. Which author should I be looking at?
Colson Whitehead is the author. Welcome!
Yup! Sorry - the book titles in the original post are links, but I didn't say that. Edited now And everyone is definitely welcome to join! Glad to 'meet' you!
Looks like I'm already too late for the January book, (it's a ~3 mo wait at my library) but I read "The Underground Railroad" last month and put the March book on hold.

Yeah my library hold for January's book only became available to me yesterday, after being wait listed for over a month. But I'm glad you'll be able to join us for the other books/months

My hold came in for Underground Railroad. I should have paused it so that I got it closer to the discussion so it's fresh in my mind. Oh well. Maybe I'll taks notes! I bought All the Ugly and Wonderful Things when it was $3 and All The Missing Girls is on hold and judging by how quickly I'm moving up the hold list, I will definitely have this in time.
I'm just really excited that I get to participate in this! I was never able to on TN.
