That's why I was so glad we got a stick - I can't drive it. DH did an amazing job not only staying on the left, but with the scary roads and sheep everywhere. I got to silently freak out but mostly just enjoy the view.
We can both drive stick, but I am more experienced and better at it. H is also better at navigating. Driving really wasn't bad until we got way out in the county on our way to the Cliffs. The roads are just SO narrow.
I just felt like my H was going to run me into the stone walls that were INCHES away from my door.
Okay, it was probably a good foot, but that didn't stop me from constantly flinching.
I have all the respect for the tour buses that go through that area. Wow.

See, I was terrified of being hit by oncoming cars, so my strategy was that if it came down to it, I would scrape the wall because it seemed safer than a head-on collision. So, you know, your perception was probably right.
You really can't go wrong anywhere. But, have you considered Copenhagen? I absolutely loved it, and the food was amazing (no, I didn't eat pickled herring)
Want to come to Brussels? Two hours on the Eurostar and you're in the town of chocolate, beer and fries! And art deco houses etc.
This year, my Scottish BF will take me to Edinburgh taking the night train from London, it's apparently a very special experience - not really like the Orient Express, but still magical!
