What's up ladies!
DH and I are heading to the OBGYN on Wednesday so I can grill him on all my questions regarding our EM and the anatomy scan. I hope that I'll feel much better after all that, and then our EM has another appointment on the 17th. She should be having another ultrasound to determine placement of the placenta, so we'll know if it's moved any or not.
Do any of you know when the placenta will stop moving? Could she have a complete placenta previa all the way up to 35 weeks (for instance) and then it magically move out of the way?
Also - we got our nursery decal in the mail last week, and the mobile is on it's way! I'm so excited to hang them up!
I don't have any answers to the placenta questions, sorry oneslybookworm. I'm glad you are talking to a local OB to ask about the scan results. I'd feel better doing that too.
I had my first ultrasound today, it looked great. I have a sac! haha, I'm glad I get weekly ultrasounds until 12 weeks. I don't know how regular preggos don't get one until 8 or 10 weeks sometimes. But then again, they don't have to deal with the IF fuckery so whatever lol.
I'm traveling to DC Tues/Wed which means I have to give myself my progesterone shot tomorrow and I don't wanna! It's a hard angle man.

YAY for a sac!! (i'm such a 12-year old boy, sometimes!)

I have friends that were sent back at 28 weeks to check placenta position and for both it had moved. Not sure what the cutoff week is though!

I'm not sure about your question, but something like >95% of marginal and >85% of complete previas resolve by 28w.

You pretty much just answered it! So, if it doesn't resolve by week 28, does it just not resolve?
mrsgoontz I am jealous of your weekly ultrasounds--we only had two--one at 7 and one at 10.
I just got myself into a panic; we have had weekly heartbeat checks with our midwives weekly and always hear a perfect heartbeat, and with my last ultrasound 7 weeks ago, size was perfect. However, I am not showing at all yet, though I can for sure feel my uterus growing. What if something is wrong? Someone over on GP said that she should have known that something was wrong because by 18 weeks she wasn't showing and now I cannot stop thinking about that. Thank god I have another check tomorrow.

but that was her second pregnancy after being bigger the first time around. different situation! Take a look at all the people who responded that they didn't have a real bump til even further along! I spent some time with my SIL this weekend. She is 16 weeks and has zero bump yet. I'm glad you have another check tomorrow to ease your mind, but the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor that everything is ok. (kiss)

Told my parents and brother yesterday that we are pregnant so that was good.
I have my NT scan on Wednesday and he ordered me the cell free DNA test since I'm 35 or older.
I hope the OB/GYN can answer a lot of your questions oneslybookworm, mrsgoontz, I'm so happy for you! Glad you saw the sac! shauni27, I've known people who barely show until 20 weeks. It all depends on your body, where your uterus is, etc. SO don't let that freak you out! I'm 13 weeks now and not showing at all but my cousin looked super pregnant by 12 weeks so there's such a difference.

Our expecting mom is 22 weeks pregnant with her third and is barely showing at all (looks like me after eating an extra sushi roll). Try not to worry. Hugs!

Hope all is well at your check tomorrow shauni27! I'm sure he is fine
Anybody else not really into doing a ton of research on every piece of baby equipment? I'm going to give H a list of 3 car seats I'd like him to research. I have a pretty good idea of which cloth diapers I want to use. The other stuff? I guess we'll figure it out. We should probably think about registering. Buying things just makes me nervous.

I am so, so bored by car seat and stroller research. I pretty much just scanned Lucie's List and bought/registered for whatever she recommended. Save

Hugs Shauni! Everyone is different, it's not uncommon for FTM to show later, especially if they have a long torso. Have you talked to your OB about NSTs when you are in your third tri? I had so much anxiety around stillbirth so my OB offered twice weekly NSTs starting at 32w. It was really helpful for my anxiety.

I love researching stuff! I'll make your registry for you if you want . It did make me nervous to buy things. What cloth diapers are using?

I was overwhelmed by this as well and my coworker introduced me to Lucie's List. You ever hear of it? It compares high end, middle of the road and cheaper options for EVERYTHING you would think of buying for a baby.
Doc office called yesterday and my estrogen is low (dropped 12 points since last week) so I'm starting prometrium in addition to the estradiol, progesterone shots and patches. I wasn't nervous until they said I needed a repeat ultrasound and blood work on Thursday. cue panic. I'm sure they are just being cautious but it still rattled my nerves.
oneslybookworm- I have heard of it moving near the end but it's not as common as it moving earlier.
mrsgoontz- yay for a sac! I have no idea how others can go that long without an ultrasound either. I would go crazy.
shauni27- try not to panic, everyone carries differently. ((Hugs))
thoseareradishes- I researched everything to the point it made DH crazy! Lol, well except the cloth diapers, I bought whatever I could find a deal on and lucked out that I really like them.
I've been busy lately so I haven't been around much.
DD is growing so quickly. It's hard to believe that she is almost 2 months already!

I hope everything is okay mrsgoontz, hopefully you just need a little boost.
Ugh strollers cactuscookie, they are even worse to research than car seats!
Lucie's List has definitely been helpful.
boiler717, I'm thinking Best Bottoms, along with a variety of a few other covers (blueberries, thirsties, Nicki's, bummis). Any suggestions on prefolds? I'll probably order those from Green Mountain, along with a few workhorses. Also a few AI1's, probably Nicki's, BumGenius and maybe Thirsties (I found a Thirsties outlet). I don't plan on starting until a few weeks after she's born - I need time to recover from the c-section and try to get breastfeeding sorted out.
awkwardpenguin - you used prefolds and covers, right? What are your favorites?
thoseareradishes we do all AIOs (except for nighttime). I love the simplicity! We have a mostly BG freetimes plus some BG elementals. I definitely prefer the freetimes, the elementals haven't worked for naps since he was maybe 6m old and he wets out of them after 2 hours. For night we use BG pockets with a thirsties duo insert added.
My son absolutely refused to leave daycare yesterday. I had to literally carry him out kicking and screaming. And I'm not supposed to be doing anything "strenuous" lol. He wouldn't let me buckle him in the car so I just closed the door (with him inside) and stood there and cried for a few minutes before trying again. I was so mad at my DH for not being there to help me, which is totally unreasonable and ridiculous on my part. We carpool, so usually he's there, but yesterday a meeting ran long so he texted me to go get DS then come back and get him. But this was so far outside his normal behavior. Man. I'm still scarred today.
Then at bedtime DS was so sweet and throwing out random "I love you"s to me. And it was his easiest night going to sleep in months. Kids, man.
I have another OB appt this afternoon and my first NST at the hospital. i am feeling pretty down and defeated about all of this right now. I'm not really sure why. I tell myself it is just hormones and try to push through.

Hugs mpc. I ended up with preeclampsia so feel free to PM me about it if you end up with it. It really wasn't too bad
S is two months old and went on her first flight this weekend and did great! So excited as she has two flights next month. My husband flies a lot for work and has companion pass on SW. So I get to fly free all year with him. We are going to Vegas in two weeks for a work conference for him. S is "talking" so much lately!!!

DH got the wall decal put up last night!! I totally married and engineer...we had the laser level out, three different measurement tools, and various other things to make sure it was PERFECTLY centered and leveled. I was just like, "ummm...call me when it's done."

I am totally your DH. Although I wouldn't have worried too much about having it centered in this case, cause I could always move the furniture slightly if needed. I did do a collage of frames on a narrow wall in our family room and it ended up 1/16 in off center and it kills me. Probably other people don't notice but I will always know.

thoseareradishes, we do use prefolds and covers, and will for this one too. I'm such a "set it and forget it" kind of person, I haven't really tried out different types, other than to determine that despite the Internet generally professing their superiority, I hate snaps! So we've exclusively used the hook and loop Thirsties Duo Wrap covers and sized prefolds from Green Mountain Diapers. We ended up with orange, yellow, red, and brown edged prefolds, but honestly I might skip the orange edged ones because you only use them for about 6 weeks and could make do with yellow. We do have a few Workhorse fitteds, but I actually prefer the prefolds.
We did have a hard time coming up with a night solution, as DD is a heavy wetter at night. We ended up switching to disposables at night around 6 months, and actually had to buy booster pads for the disposables!

Today is my labor anniversary lol. I started having regular intense contactions at 10 am on Valentine's day last year! The craziest part is that means I'm going to have a 1 year old on Saturday 😲
My NT scan for #2 is a week from today & my midwife will also sign my okay form for our cruise.
shauni27, Velar's second baby had the same condition as V. It is a rare condition but doesn't usually cause m/mc (like me, she decided to TFMR). Perhaps this difference in your histories will be reassuring, although I also know that PGAL carries with it the loss of innocence and the knowledge of all the things that can go wrong. When I was pregnant with both V and A I had a very noticeable early bump, so I also wouldn't count on your size as an indication of whether or not something's wrong. PPs are wise, and I second Boiler's suggestion of speaking with your OB about what they can do to help you with anxiety. Would they be willing to offer extra scans until you feel movement, or NSTs in third tri? You've suffered trauma, and your mental health should be their priority as well as your baby's health.
thoseareradishes- I liked the bummies prefolds. I'm not sure what the price is on them though as a friend lent me her stash for the newborn phase. I now use one size pockets, I love them but I think I'm going to start looking for different inserts as I only have microfiber ones and she is now sometimes peeing out of them after 1ish hours. (But sometimes we can go 3-4 hrs, it's annoying.) I was also recently given about 25 prefolds and some covers from another friend, not sure the brand though. I might try those out after I get them washed up today.

They have been wonderful with the extra heartbeat checks whenever I want them; I think once I see him on the ultrasound in 2 weeks and know everything is ok that I will finally be able to relax. But if not, I will certainly be talking to them about other ways they can help me work through the aftermath of the trauma I went through.
I did tell my midwife last night that she in particular was a trigger for me as she was the one who told me there was no heartbeat. I was like "I love you because you were so incredibly supportive and patient, but I cannot help but feel triggered by you because the last time I saw you you had told me our baby stopped growing." She was really understanding.

Hope your scan goes well today King26 ! And your talk with the OB oneslybookworm!
awick14 , from what I've read, hemp/cotton inserts are supposed to be really absorbent.
Little girl was kicking a bunch last night while I was laying on my side and I could see it on the outside of my belly, it was so weird! I ordered a support band, my abdomen is getting pretty sore by the end of the day. That's normal, right?
