Everything is falling apart with my move and there is virtually no chance we'll stay on schedule, and it may be delayed MONTHS. And I already gave my notice; my last day is this Friday. We're having a big farewell lunch on Wed and I want to cancel it because it's a farewell and on to.... unemployment. Fucking embarrassing. I knew it was too fucking good to be true.
And I'm irrationally pissed at my fucking dogs because we could just get an apt if not for them. And even MORE irrationally pissed at my former dog for dying, because he was perfect and would have been fine in an apt and I wouldn't have THESE assholes RUINING MY LIFE.

What's causing the delay? What area are you moving to? How many dogs do you have?

What is causing it to be delayed months? Job? Housing?
I'm sorry 😔
Housing. We didn't realize that there are NO houses with 6mo leases or even 12mo leases with early termination fee options (we'd be liable for a full 12mo of rent). We could get a 6mo lease in an apt, but our dogs are SO yappy when they play and with neighbor noises (we've done a vrbo townhouse with them before, and it was...not good) that we would almost certainly get booted from an apt. And I just can't risk having to scramble for a place to live as a parent in my 30s. Single and 10yrs ago, maybe...

Is there a reason you think you'll be moving again in 6 months? It may be worth it to stay put for a year. Moving again after 6 months sounds terrible.

Is there a reason you need the early termination clause? I know it's more convenient, but you've wanted this move for a long time and it seems like not a bad compromise to rent for a year.

(& pantsparty) There's just the emotional part of just wanting to buy and be settled. And the fact that my parents won't move down to our area until we buy a house (so that they can buy nearby)... So now we're discussing just buying straight out, after a couple of visits to the area to look at neighborhoods. But that's where we're talking about several months of me being unemployed while we find a house and close... which is a financial, career, and SANITY shot.
Has anyone ever just given up on the hope of having a clean house and burned it down instead? Asking for a friend
I literally don't know what to do anymore. I'm slowly giving up hope...
I cleaned my bedroom, because date night, and the bathroom. I closed Ella's bedroom door so I don't have to look. I'm going to do the best I can on the rest of the house, avoiding the playroom, because it'll just all go to shit. Then I intend to leave her at the inlaws as long as I can manage and kick DH out as well!
I'm having coffee and a cinnamon roll with the baby while looking up all inclusive resorts for a family getaway this summer. Anyone have any toddler/baby friendly recs. @misoangry perhaps? I'm thinking the hotel azul riviera maya looks good so far.
The only all-inclusive we've ever been to was the Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. The food wasn't great, but it was a fine experience overall.
I'm not the one to ask if you want all-inclusive resort advice.

Not really all inclusive advice but easy places to stay with a toddler. Don't y'all travel with misotiny quite a bit?
Our TV died this morning and dh has to have a new one. Fine, I don't care. I spent a ton of money on myself Friday so knock yourself out lol. But he's taking forever. Just pick one already.

I told dh that if I get a promotion and raise at work (it's 50/50 now) I want to get a housecleaner. But, we downsized last year to space half the size of our old house, he does his fair share of house stuff, and we can clean top to bottom in an hour. I just don't want to scrub the bathroom anymore, I just don't want to. He is fine continuing with us continuing to do it.
A cleaning lady would only mean that maybe my family would pick up before she comes. We, especially my kid, have so much stuff in a really small house. Purging is a constant battle

Have you tried working with a corporate housing company? When I moved, we rented a 2 bedroom, 2 bath fully furnished townhouse for 3 months. My company paid for 2 months, and then we extended it on our own. We could rent it by the day as needed.
It's more expensive that just an unfurnished place, but it did include utilities and cable, and it was a great option for us until we sold our old home and found a new place. This way you are not tied down to 12 months.
For those who read about my work drama last Tuesday, I figured I'd give an update. Hannah called me in to talk Tuesday afternoon, and she decided to fire Jennifer and Camden. She fired Jennifer Wednesday morning. Shortly after Hannah took a phone call from Jennifer's mother (yes, her mother. Jennifer is 20 FTR) who threatened all kinds of legal action (we're in MD, for reference). Camden (who's 16) then sent Hannah a text message saying he quits. A friggin text message. Say's he might work his shift that evening, but only if he doesn't have to do any prep. So Hannah lets him work, and he walks out 30 minutes into his shift (which means he quit, he wasn't fired, and has no recourse). The two of them apparently blew up social media with nasty crap. I got a harassing text message from Camden that night (I didn't respond, but didn't delete it either). They're still saying nasty shit on Snapchat, which I'm hearing third hand because I don't have Snapchat. Last night two of my coworkers (whom Jennifer & Camden really disliked) had their cars egged. So that's where that stands.

We have been on vacation in Orlando since the 11th......we go home on Friday and MN is predicted to get a huge blizzard that day. Obviously it's far out and things may change, but there's a good chance this will at least fuck up our travel plans. Annoying since H is flying home on Tuesday because of work so I'm on my own with the girls.

It was fucking gorgeous outside today. BF and I took his puppers hiking at a state park. I randomly chose the trail we went on, which ended up being like 5 miles instead of my anticipated 2 or 3 -.- Got my fill of the outdoors for a while lol.
Afterwards we stopped at this artisan sandwich shop for lunch, which was incredible.
Came home, took a nap, now watching Star Trek. It was a great day.

I am so stressed the night before my cleaning lady comes. I regularly walk around with a garbage bag and throw random crap away but there is still SO MUCH SHIT.

Hire the cleaning lady. I adore mine. yes, I have to pick up before she comes (I want her cleaning, not putting away). I was so tired of cleaning bathrooms - it is totally worth it. Walking into my house after she has been here is a highlight of my week. Dh and I debate over which one of us appreciates her more.
I have been laughing about something stupid for hours. Theo was getting ready for bed last night, and he was way overtired and crabby. He hurt himself and cry yelled "MY BING BONG!!". I was all uh?? It might be the sleep deprivation, but "MY BING BONG" is killing me dead.
The baby just went down for a nap and H is off buying us a fuckton of Mexican food because we havent eaten other than coffee and a bagel today.

I had a very nice day. Went to Body Pump class with my bff from 845 to 945. Afterwards we decided to walk from the Y to the main "square" and find a brunch place. There's been a lot of residential building going on and restaurants opening. We saw a cool looking place with a Sunday Brunch sign in the window abs said what the heck. It was SO good. We're going back for dinner some night. Then I went to my parents to pick Ellie up from her weekly sleepover. We decided to take the dog for the night since we're heading back tomorrow to stay (plumbing in house being redone so we'll be out of running water). I took her (dog) for a walk in the beach and now we're all home and I'm settling in my ugly recliner with me heating pad, the dog and the Roku remote.
