So he went off on a tangent tonight. He and DS3 were packing up DS2's stuff since the two of them were moving in together by the end of this month. DS2 wound up breaking the bathroom mirror with his fist because he said he was attacking something (DS3 told me about that).
He came downstairs and was yelling and moaning. DS1 showed up 10 minutes later and told him that he would drive him to the local psychiatric unit to check himself in or we were going to call the cops. DS2 walked away into the night, so I called the cops. They just left after talking to me. They told me they'd keep an eye out for him and that I can go down to the courthouse and file an order that they can take him in for a 72 hour watch.
I am just so rattled and sad, and so are his brothers.

I've gone through something similar with my dad. It's so hard to feel so helpless, but you are doing the right thing. I will be praying for all of you.

I'm so sorry. I'm sure you and his brothers are so worried. I hope this and the incident previously are the beginning steps down a path of managing his disease.
I'm so sorry, Flex. If you have a local NAMI chapter, I would suggest participating in their family program. It's very helpful in connecting with other families that are in similar situations. Feel free to PM me anytime. Take care.
Thank you everyone. The police did locate him and took him to the local crisis center. I'm going down to the courthouse to sign some paperwork to keep him there for 72 hours.

It just so happens there's one close to my house. I'll check it out. Thank you so much for the advice.
