I don't have any true medical knowledge, but I do have a great positive anecdote. My brother's good friend (and then roommate) was diagnosed with leukemia in 2004. After going through a number of medical treatments, including chemotherapy, he went into complete remission, went on to write for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and now writes for HBO's Insecure, and is seemingly cancer-free today. My connection is that, when he hadn't landed a Hollywood gig yet, he used to tutor my old assistant's kids in math! Such a sweetheart. We were all so thrilled with his amazing conquering of his disease.
