My epidurals were the best money I've ever spent on myself. Some people have "I could hardly tell" labors and some people, like me, have "your body is ripping in half from the inside out and you're at 3 centimeters" labors. Good luck and smooth sailing!

Ha! I say the same thing! Epidurals are awesome if you want one. I was much more present mentally for DS's birth than I would have been if I was writhing in pain. I know my pain threshold is low and I would not have been able to concentrate if I had been able to feel it. I admire women who go pain med free, because I wasn't able to do it.
Good luck! L&D can have a lot of unknowns, but I felt like a total badass after pushing out my babies. Fingers crossed that you meet your little one soon!
