People don't usually comment on what I teacher, but where I teach. Our HS is large for our area and people ask if I like it or worry about the demographic of kids (uh... no).
Me too!
I usually get "ugh, teenagers suck!" And "wow, I hated history in school".
Um, ok thanks? I actually like (generally) teenagers and love history.
Followed by "I'm thinking of redoing my <insert room here>, what kind of lighting should I use?".
Lol this would totally be me, but it would be a question about the merits of a table lamp vs an arched floor lamp for my living room.
Omg you would hate me. But I'd answer any questions about psychology and you could have a free medical consult with my husband.
Haha, actually I don't hate it when people ask, I hate when they don't take my advice! Like when my dad was showing me where they would be putting downlights in his kitchen, and I told him they were putting in 2x as many as he needed, and he said "well that's what the contractor said". The contractor gets paid to install lights, of course they will try and get you to buy as many as possible!
"oh! Fun" and/or "my sister/cousin/random acquaintance is a teacher" and my favorite "oh, I thought about that but teachers make no money" (said by someone that I happen to know makes about $5K less than me)

I like to reply (tongue in cheek) that they hated it bc they didn't have an history teacher like me. Ha.
