I'm not sure I buy that they would call a meeting of the entire staff, allowing a day's travel time, before announcing it to the media/public.
Didn't they call the meeting this afternoon? I am slightly confused by the way it was written. Standard is to embargo until the following morning at 8 am so if so and it was this afternoon we wouldn't know.
would all the royal staff be called back for him also?
When he dies the Queen will go into total mourning for 8 days. No work, no royal ascent, no red boxes. The staff would need to get things together for that. Not to mention the general post death stuff that needs to happen.
My question on this is why would BBC/Sky/etc be silent on this if the press person is answering questions surely their staff is asking as well? What do they know that the NZ paper doesn't.

Second is it another royal who passed?
That's what I am worried about. Someone unexpected, I.e. Younger
