I can't remember if I posted here yesterday or not, but it is bothering me enough that I'm posting again. A guy that was terminated 5 years ago showed up in person demanding to speak to me and was so "loopy" according to the guard that they hit the panic button, got his number, and after much persuasion got him to go away. I called him to see what he wanted and he answered the phone like he was Hannibal Lector and I was Clarice Starling. Ok, a bit of an exaggeration but he was super creepy, "Hellllloooooooooooooo Ms. [Last name]. How are YOU? I gave a short answer and asked what he wanted. He went on a long rambling rant that was hard to understand except I figured out he was upset about losing his job years ago and was demanding to be reinstated - threatened to go to the media and everything.
I explained he had to talk to our lawyers at this point and he very menacingly said, "Michelle, if you believe in a God like I do, I mean, I'm not threatening you but, you know what you DID>" (like IKWYDLS or something).
Then I again directed him to risk management at this point and hung up the call.
This morning a former employee called in to report she is late. She left us like 2 years ago. When her replacement answered the phone she said, "Who are you ?" "My name is Alice, I am Janie's secretary." "Oh ok well tell Janie it is her secretary and I'm on her way in."
The first person is scary and a danger to others. Security has issued me a panic button because of the severity of his medical diagnoses in our files. The second person is a sweet lady who was having memory problems before she left, but now I'm concerned might truly have advanced dementia or Alzheimer's, so she is a safety risk to herself.
Michelle psychotic breaks are sadly uncommon in high stress. People have lost everything, maybe turned to inebriation/ high and got terminated. Or place of business closed so lost income. Freaking out.
I'm sorry you're dealing with that. It's a real phenomenon though.
Facebook rando: "Where can I donate some used clothes to disaster victims?" Literally every reply: "They don't need clothes, the need a bunch of other stuff. Sorting through clothes they don't need makes their jobs harder. Here's a list of things they need." Facebook rando: "I understand they want other stuff but I have clothes to donate. Where do I send them?"

Yeah, I know logically it happens. Employee relations issues and ED visits always skyrocket around the holidays (periods of stress).
Emotionally I am processing it differently.
I worry for the one employee who seemed disoriented and forgot she doesn't work here any more. I don't think she has a great support system. She was always a very sweet and lovely woman.

I'm in a second meeting today where I feel like someone is wrong, but can't say it without sounding super pushy/know-it-all. It changes some deliverable items and I'm super annoyed, but also I've been so busy that I've been delegated; however, I'm still very opinionated and know the projects/clients well and plus the things they want to do make it so hard for collecting the actual field data. Annoyed and want to throw things.
Wasn't yamdicks a Megan Heimer who spreads misinformation and endangers public health thing? It was created for an ae day I think. However, why it didn't have any posts or why you were logged into it is weird.

Have you seen Frankie and Grace? Frankie has a yam based lube she sells.

It was weird.
it's edible! I can't help but imagine that it would be kinda gritty. Like how mashed yams just have that bit of fibrousness to them?
I have one random swollen lymph node under my chin. Just one side. no other ones. But it's PAINFUL. Like if I look up it hurts. if I lightly touch it, it hurts.
Appropriately, this was from yesterday but I just remembered it.
Driving into work yesterday, a bunch of Gillespie (R candidate for VA governor) were at a major intersection with signs and banners. They had a bunch of signs that were "Honk If You're With Gillespie!!!" and I heard not a single honk while sitting through an entire cycle of the traffic light. It perked up my day a bit.

I have a few podcasts that I like listening, so I thought "hey, I should also enjoy audiobooks right, right? I signed up for a free trial at Audable.com, listened to a current book I'm reading, I got through about 15mins and I HATE audiobooks. I found out I don't enjoy a person reading to me.

I loathe listening to books. Also, it makes me go to sleep.
