I know about L'Oreal but missed the other two incidents.
Jaclyn hill uploaded a snap of Kathleen Lights using the n word while playing a video game I think. She claimed she was drunk and never says that word.
Tarte recently (I think yesterday) posted a racist meme on their instagram and then blamed it on an intern and apologized using a sad cat picture. Both of these have since been deleted.
And, sorry, but if you can comfortably reach for the N word when your defenses are down (i.e., drinking) then you ARE that kind of person. There isn't a special "not a racist" loophole for being drunk, though I know a large contingent of the Internet is feverishly trying to create one.
From what I am gathering from the Reddit threads, Jaclyn posted a whole bunch of drunken snapchat videos of them playing the video game, and people are mad because they think she posted the snap because she didn't see anything wrong with it, not because she wanted to expose KL.
I don't understand Snapchat and don't follow their vlogs so I don't know if they are friends and live near each other, but if I'm understanding it correctly, Jaclyn was present while KL said that, which is how the videos were taken, so if that's the case, and Jacyln just remained silent when she heard it, t hen I think the former assessment is probably correct.

I think people like to hate on Jaclyn and want to keep Kathleen as this super sweet person who can do no wrong.
But yeah, I agree with you. Being drunk just doesn't make the word pop out of your mouth.

She claims she never heard the word being said because she was laughing too much. Not saying that's the truth, but that's what she said.
Yes, I've been following along on Reddit. I'm glad it's being brought up here, too.
I feel like Jaclyn is a bit messy, and posted that snap on purpose. I wouldn't blame her one bit, and I don't think she was in the wrong at all. Kathleen can kiss my ass.
Tarte...Fuck them. I saw the kitty cat apology last night where they were blaming an intern, and it's probably true, but they won't be getting another cent from me.

The Jaclyn thing is the worst. Seriously. People blaming her. It is not her fault. I don't care if she posted it maliciously or not. I remember people blaming everyone BUT Josh Duggar when things came out about him. Seems pretty ridiculous, but common.

I really liked Kathleen but her non-apology ended it for me. It would have been far better for her to admit that it's a word she uses (or used to use) on a regular basis and take steps to remove it from her vocabulary.
Now Jaclyn is a problem for a lot of reasons but I don't know that I blame her in this scenario.
Yup I've been following. I think Kathleen is full of shit with her 'apology' and that she never uses that word. I've unfollowed all her stuff. I also won't be buying anything else from Tarte or L'Oréal. I've been over Jaclyn's drama for awhile now. I don't blame her for posting that Snapchat, KL shouldn't have said what she said to begin with.
I hadn't heard about any of this, so thanks for posting. I'll be adding Tarte, KL and L'Oréal to my no-buy list. I can't tolerate bullshit like this.
BTW- I just saw all the brands that L'Oréal owns, and holy fuck guys- NYX, UD, Maybelline, Garnier, Essie, Matrix, and IT Cosmetics just to name a few that I purchase frequently. This one is going to take a little longer to remember all the damn brands that I'm not buying now, but that's ok.

Shape Tape and BBUE are the only things that have tackled my hideous dark circles. My blemish concealer is UD. I was testing LA Girl Pro Concealer to replace the UD concealer, but I'm meh on it.
Did Kat Von D got in trouble for saying racist stuff in the past or was that just Jeffree Star?
I tried looking into her a while ago. She's been accused of saying or texting something anti-Semitic but she denies it and there isn't anything concrete that I could find that she did do it. Idk I haven't bought much from her brand. She seems to be running her brand pretty professionally now and she called out JS.
