For your hospital bag and supplies - I'd pack as little as possible, especially if your H can drive home during your stay if needed. The only things I really used for myself and plan to pack again: - Travel toiletries - Long charging cords - Small snacks - Phone, iPad, head phones - Exercise ball (for labor) - Nursing tanks - Yoga pants and loose shirt for going home - Underwear and a couple pads - Socks/slippers
I brought, but didn't need - my own pillow, boppy, clothes, and a shit ton of who knows what else. I just wore the hospital gowns while I was there and used whatever else the hospital provided. From the start of my induction to discharge was less than 48 hours, so I really didn't need much to survive.
For baby, I brought/will bring: - Several sleepers in NB and 0-3 - Pacifiers - 1 swaddle and 1 blanket
The hospital provided everything else he needed.
For clothing at home, I mostly used footed sleepers for the first few months. I learned my lesson last time on the snaps (and trying to line up those suckers at 3am in the dark when you never sleep is damn near impossible) and bought a bunch more zipper sleepers this time. I probably have at least 20 sleepers in NB and 0-3, each. My kid was going through 3-6+ a day, depending on his pooping and spit up situation. I wasn't interested in doing a tiny load of baby laundry every day, so I wanted enough sleepers and swaddles to last me at least 3-4 days.
