gerberdaisy I wasn’t ready to commit to sleep training completely in the 4 month period because DS would cry and cry for longer than I was comfortable with. So we muddled through months 4 and 5 doing whatever we could- sometimes it was the swing, sometimes H taking shifts. We tried sleep training again just before 6 months and it worked. There was a lot of MOTN crying (going to sleep wasn’t our issue) but I felt confident at that point and it was over in two nights. If you’re not mentally prepared for the crying you could try to buy yourself a few weeks however you can.
I remember you mentioning your sleep issues, glad it’s gotten better.
Honestly, I’m not ready to do full extinction CIO yet. But I need sleep, bad. I was listening to the precious little sleep podcast today almost tearing up because I’m so freaking tired. We’re going to give the swing a go tonight and see if it works. He’s happily sleeping and swinging away right now. I realize it’s just something more to break, but at this point my sleep is more important.
gerberdaisy I think that sounds like a plan. You sound exactly like me. I cried often because i was so tired. We had a couple nights of swing sleep that were 2 wakeups. That felt like winning the lottery at the moment. And honestly i can’t even believe I’m in here giving advice because things were so bad for us just a couple of weeks ago that I was begging for advice myself. It feels never ending in the moment I know. What is your son’s sleep prop? Is there any way your H could take a big shift so you can sleep undisturbed for a big stretch? During the last few weeks before we sleep trained I put my foot down about H helping more. I slept in a different room for my sleeping shift so i could actually sleep too.

Blue Moon, OMG it was amazing! He went to sleep at 7:15 in the swing awake, woke up at 9:30 and cry/whined for about 5 minutes, then slept till 2:30! Fed him a little, slept till 5:30, then till 7. I woke up a few additional times to make sure he was breathing, couldn't believe he was still asleep.
He was in such a good mood this morning too, he's been so tired lately when he doesn't sleep. Everything looks a lot better today.
We seem to be having diaper leaking issues. During the day is fine, but at night I find C has often leaked out of his diaper and onto his Pjs. We currently use honest diapers, but I also have earths best and have the same issue. What gives? They fit well (he's 8.5 lbs and in size 1). Are we doing something wrong?
Also he is 2 weeks old and a super chill, easy baby. Doesn't fuss much, never cries short of a crisis like changing him, and sleeps well. I assume the ball is going to drop at some point and that's all going to go out the window?

I need to get these! DS pees through his diaper, pajamas, and even sleep sack almost every night. The amount of his laundry that I do is amazing! Going to order these and hope they work well for hiim.
