Never. I write like 6 checks a year. Bills are paid online, and purchases are credit card, debit card, and a bit of cash. I review our statements thoroughly, but I don't balance anything.
No. We write so few checks that I'm able to track what is pending pretty easily.
My dad tracks his spending/income religiously on Quicken. He also never checks his bank account or credit cards online. Just waits for the statements each month.
Yep, using google sheets. I prefer to budget to $0 and we put everything on our points cc, so this helps me account for extra at the end of the month and move it to savings.
It's not that we overspend, but I guess old habits are hard to break. I still use paper for my grocery list.
We barely use our bank account - I mean the amount of transactions in a month are a handful so DH checks once a month? I hardly ever write a check anymore. Most of our transactions are done with our credit card, so I do check that online every other day or so.
I have an app for that -- checks get written 12-15x a year -- Garbage & sewer each quarterly, taxes twice a year, and then a one off here or there for a small amount or if I'm late picking up the car at the mechanic I write a check vs charging it. Everything else goes on a credit card - just check the checking account balance before those are due to go out.

If we write a check we’ll write it into the register just so we have it recorded somewhere until it clears. I wish my online account had a way to account for that.
I’m always curious when people say they either don’t write checks, or don’t have them at all. How do you never, ever use one? I’m certainly not writing them out regularly, but I use them for stuff like our HOA payment, occasionally to pay a sitter when I have no cash, to pay our house cleaner, if we owe someone money (concert ticket etc) and they don’t use Venmo/PayPal etc), a wedding gift (ever since several cards with cash were stolen at our wedding, we don’t use cash for wedding gifts) You just always have cash? I guess I’m lazy about keeping cash on me.
I have a ledger I keep track of all expenses and balance my checking account with and I have a spreadsheet for monthly bills. I don't write checks or have any checks since we move often. I usually make a money order or order a check from my bank and they'll send it out.
