Definitely yes. 4 years ago we were upside down in our townhouse and couldn't sell it while also owning our house. Dh got laid off. My job went on a pay freeze.
Now dh is working from home and building his own small business, I have a better paying job, stupid townhouse finally sold, we refinanced for a great rate, paid off credit cards, and our house value was just appraised at 24k more than we paid. Houses in our neighborhood are selling in a week or less.
Also, I definitely wasn't a student 4 years ago. I was 30 yrs old and I'm still in the same career (teacher).

Well four years ago I'd just graduated college and was living with my parents while working three jobs and planning my wedding. I was debt free but poor (as in I couldn't have made it financially had I not been living with my parents). I married into H's SL debt. He makes okay money and I've never made much money. We make ends meet and have 6 months of e-fund. We go on a vacation every year and aren't living in a cardboard box.
We're only 26 and 27 so ask me again in 4 years. We'll probably be doing better. H's earning power is still rising. Eventually he'll make a lot more money. I'll never make a ton of money but I knew that going into my field (and H knew that before he married me).
Yes, 4 years ago, we were still in our first "professional" jobs and just getting our own business started. Today we make about 10 times more than what we made 4 years ago.
I'll give you that, but two years is a long time! Who knows how many new people are here? I'm not saying that it is a lot, but who really knows anymore!
Just because there are new people doesn't make them automatically younger.
I don't think this is the board the bee bee brides flock to after the Knot.
This is a very good point. This board makes me feel old sometimes (I'm 33), but more because of the stray "in 2001 I was in middle school" comments.
I think that you can tell that the board isn't all that young by all the "you're super young, so..." comments that tacom and bliss (who isn't even that young!) have gotten.
