But I mean, why? Who cares? Do you really care so much about someone who you don’t interact with.

I just have compassion for him. He’s a human that I was once very good friends with. I really don’t know beyond that.
U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is planning to refer a declassified memo released on Friday by Republican lawmakers alleging Justice Department bias against President Trump to the department's internal watchdog office for investigation.
In a statement, Sessions said he had received inquiries from Congress raising concerns "about the department’s performance" and that he would forward those issues to "the appropriate DOJ components."
Rachel Maddow just played a clip of Carter Page on Chris Hayes a few months ago saying something like “when Paul Ryan green lights the release of the information about this FISA Warrant and the dodgy dossier, the truth will come out.”
Now at the time, he sounded crazy. But listening to it now, doesn’t it sound like there was a plan in the works to get this stuff released?

Oh, shit. So, we actually live in the world where crazy ass Carter Page isn’t actually a rambling idiot? OMG LOLOLOLOL

Yep. I was watching her go through some of his other shenanigans last night and started thinking that this was a longer plan than I thought. All his BS letters and TV interviews looked more intentional than I appreciated at the time.

I missed last night but I might go check out this segment later. It’s still in my DVR. The guy is still batshit, but now it is like it’s more because he’s a blabbermouth, not because he’s delusional.

This is where I’m landing. He’s not delusional or stupid (well, maybe in some ways). He’s just a blabbermouth. He’s a guy who should have gotten a lawyer ages ago and didn’t so no one tells him to shut up.

I am seeing Twitter chatter from reporters and attorneys that now that 45 has confirmed the existence of this FISA warrant, the contents should be subject to FOIA. If that's true, this is about to get messy for some folks.
well, if this is true, I can see why the FBI and DOJ were trying to prevent this. This seems like not a good thing for a variety of reasons.

I really enjoyed NPR’s piece on this today because they have a knack for laying things out in an informed, non-alarmist manner. But you can still sense the WTF under their professionalism. I dig.
They laid out a lot of what’s already been covered here, but I really enjoy when they have reasonable conservatives on (like Jonah Goldberg) who make me believe that the entire party hasn’t gone to hell In a hand basket.
They also have asshole conservatives (for balance?) but you can always tell the reporter wants to beat them about the head with a baseball bat.
Well, to be fair I feel a little upside-down about how the narrative on the left being, "FISA is a legitimate process! Judges have to sign off, they aren't going to be fooled into allowing biased surveillance!!" Also, the "Go, FBI!!!" sentiment. I mean, I get why, but it's not like there isn't some topsy-turviness going on our side, too.
I'm sure the top people at the FBI also probably are a little WTF that Democrats are defending their honor, while people like Newt Gingrich are going on Hannity to call them corrupt and Hannity, who has the president's ear on a daily basis, says that DOJ/FBI leadership should be thrown in jail.
Yeah. I will even admit that without knowing anything else, the FBI probably should have put in the FISA application info about how Steele was working for Trump's political opponent. I don't know if I'd say it's "highly relevant" or "critical," but I feel like it's the right thing to do. If the shoe were on the other foot, and it was the Trump administration trying to get a FISA warrant on Adam Schiff, and cited as one of several pieces of evidence the basis of some research paid for by the RNC, that is information a judge should have to be able to ask necessary questions.
It sounds like the fact that Steele was working for a political opponent was in the application.
It’d be hilarious if this turns the GOP and its base against FISA warrants. If you’re not doing something wrong what do you have to hide??? It makes us safer! Patriot Act4eva! Who cares about rights? Terrorism!!!
It’s laughable yet supremely rage inducing. Much like the last 2 years have been.
Yes! I remember going in on a poster years ago about how awful the Patriot Act is and how angry I was that it was reauthorized (it was during Snowden release) and the poster just kept saying maybe it wasn't that bad, blah blah. And they weren't even conservative or a Republican. It was, and still is, so maddening.
